00:00In Ivory Coast, tensions are rising ahead of the 2025 presidential election.
00:08Opposition leaders gathered in Abidjan this weekend,
00:11calling for inclusive dialogue and demanding reforms to ensure a fair electoral process.
00:17You each came here with your PDC cap, with your Krojep cap, with your MGC cap,
00:23FPI, URD, AIRD, PIP, and all the political parties.
00:29But from the moment you crossed these barriers into this place, you are the children of Ivory Coast.
00:36In a video message from Paris, Coalition President Tijan Thiam denounced the exclusion of opposition figures
00:43from the electoral list, urging the government to stop what he called the instrumentalisation of justice.
00:53We call on President Alassane Ouattara to use the powers granted to him by the Ivorian constitution
01:03to sign an amnesty law and put an end to all of this.
01:13The opposition alliance formed earlier this year is demanding the reinstatement of excluded candidates
01:19and reform of the electoral commission.
01:23With the election set for October 25th, the political climate is heating up fast.
