00:00People are entitled to their opinion, but here's the reality.
00:04The councillors that we work with, and the councillors on this particular council,
00:08work extremely hard and commit themselves with a lot of hours to unseen work that the community aren't aware of.
00:14The councillors on this particular council work extremely hard and commit themselves with a lot of hours
00:20to unseen work that the community aren't aware of.
00:23Getting through papers, getting through decisions, going and attending various events.
00:27The greatest example I can give you is if you want to maintain a great standard of leadership within local government,
00:33then you need to make it not so much attractive, but you don't want to make it a hindrance or a blockage to people to go there
00:39if it's going to cost those people their own personal money to do it.
00:43At the end of the day, we're talking about 30 cents an hour to a councillor to continue to do the great work they do.
00:50So anyone who has an opinion and they're outraged, I find it extraordinary.
00:55No one in this country would expect anyone to, at their own personal cost,
01:00considering that some of our councillors have young families and businesses,
01:04and they're fixing this up in the middle of all that work as well.
01:07It's a fantastic effort by the councillors and I commend them for it, and I really don't see the argument.
01:11I know, that there is a problem in several aspects.
01:14Look at me on the thing!
01:16I understand.
01:18I don't know.
01:20I'm a merchant and I love to be living.
01:24I'm a merchant and I'm a merchant and I'm an merchant and I'm a merchant and I'm a merchant.
01:28I'm a merchant and I'm a merchant and I've got to go the other side.
