Wiggy knows why the Red Sox are struggling- "It's one person... that bears most of the blame, unfortunately its Alex Cora." How has Cora done this season in your opinion?
00:00I would say this here. I think we kind of know why the Red Sox have struggled this year.
00:05It has nothing to do with the front office. They gave you everything they need.
00:10And it's one person, in my opinion, who bears most of that blame.
00:15And that is, unfortunately, it's Alex Cora.
00:18And the reason why is if you watch yesterday's game, my son and I were watching the game.
00:25It's bases loaded, two outs, you're up 2-1.
00:28You would think you'd have the infielders on the grass.
00:33He has them back. There's a bleeder that's hit the third base.
00:38Meyer tries to make a play, run. They couldn't get it.
00:42They score a run. They go up 3-1.
00:45Next inning, you end up getting another run, puts you back down a 3-2.
00:49Bad decision by Alex Cora, not knowing in that situation, got to have the infield in.
00:56What are they doing back?
00:57Then there was another situation. We talked about the crochet game where he takes crochet out with 85 pitches.
01:03There was a game I was watching early in the year where Abreu's app was supposed to be up for bat.
01:09He pinch hits for Abreu, which was at the time, and right now evenly so, is one of your better hitters.
01:15Some of the decisions that Cora has made, and I'm talking on the field, managerial decisions, have probably led to maybe three, five losses that you as a team have given away because you're questioning what the manager was thinking.
01:35Did he have Campbell hitting cleanup yesterday?
01:37He did have Campbell hitting cleanup.
01:38Now, the only pass I'll give him on is because Bregman's hurt, and then, I don't know, maybe you're looking to figure out the lineup, and it's kind of switched a little bit.
01:49But, yes, he did have Campbell hitting cleanup who seems like he hasn't been able to hit the baseball since the first couple of games of the year.
01:56But when you look at this Red Sox team, there's probably five wins, five games that you lost where the manager made decisions where you were going, what the hell is he thinking here?
02:07And, Wiggy, it's a great lead.
02:08One way to just quickly add to it, the Red Sox lead Major League Baseball in one-run losses.
02:14They are 6-14.
02:17And I believe one of those one-run wins was when Cora wasn't here or got ejected.
