00:00Hi, I'm Jack Maher, I'm the Head of Flexible Workspace at Brunwood SciTech.
00:21And I'm Josh Whiteley, Commercial Director at Brunwood SciTech.
00:24So you guys have just won one of our new awards for this year, Flexible Workspace Entrepreneurs.
00:28How does it feel to win?
00:30Brilliant. We've been working on this industry for a number of years,
00:34so now it's been recognised that the inside is brilliant to win.
00:38Fantastic. And why do you think the judges picked you?
00:41I think the judges picked us because it's clear the scale of the support
00:45that we're offering to the SME community in Manchester,
00:48all the way from co-working through to larger service desks
00:52and then integrating it with our core portfolio.
00:55Absolutely. And what's coming next in the year ahead?
00:58So for our Flex portfolio, it's Pall Mall coming in October this year.
01:03So we're opening another 25,000 square foot of Flexible Base in Manchester,
01:07coming later this year.
01:09Fantastic. Well, I'll let you go and enjoy your night, so congratulations again.
01:13Hi, I'm Adam Brady and I'm an Exec Director for HPV.
01:21You've just won Commercial Developer of the Year. How does that feel?
01:25Incredible. It feels amazing. Yeah, we're so pleased to win.
01:28Did you expect it?
01:29We didn't. Nobody expects to win, do they?
01:32But we've all worked really hard, so we're super proud.
01:35I think Ireland is kind of a standout scheme in Manchester for you guys,
01:39so do you think that's why the judges picked you?
01:42Well, Ireland's an incredible scheme, net zero carbon,
01:46we're dealing with that in a really authentic, honest way,
01:49but all the other stuff, the billion pound deal we've put together with Feldberg,
01:53it's just been incredible, so the team are just buzzing, we're so proud.
01:58Fantastic. And how have you enjoyed the awards tonight?
02:00Really good, especially when we won, you know, who doesn't like winning?
02:04So now we're going to go and party.
02:06Yeah, well we've got an after party, perfect.
02:08Have we? I mean, we're invited.
02:10Oh, absolutely.
02:11Great, yeah, brilliant.
02:13Oh, fantastic. So what's coming up next to HMG in the next year?
02:16Well, we've got tons of exciting stuff going on, tons of exciting stuff in the city here in Manchester.
02:21We've got our next net zero carbon scheme sort of coming through,
02:27some other stuff that's under wraps at the minute, some big exciting stuff.
02:31We're getting heavily into the tech ecosystem through our projects in,
02:36with cyber security that we're bringing in,
02:38and some interesting stuff going on there.
02:40So, yeah, some interesting stuff.
02:42Hello, so we're from Make North West.
02:54And you've just won our Newcomer of the Year awards. How does it feel?
02:58Brilliant, to be fair. To be honest, we didn't think we'd win it,
03:01but we'd sort of accepted that it was good to just have our name in the hat.
03:05No, no, it's been a bit of a whirlwind 12, 18 months, hasn't it?
03:09Yeah.
03:10So, yeah, no, it's a, yeah.
03:11Hard work.
03:12Yeah, hard work.
03:13But, yeah, it's nice to get rewarded for it.
03:15And why do you think the judges picked you?
03:17That's a good question.
03:18I mean, I suppose, you know, you started off as, you know, two guys,
03:23just kind of giving it a go, really.
03:24And the main thing is just enjoying our work.
03:26You know, kind of love coming into work every day.
03:28And hopefully, you know, the rest of the team kind of do the same as well.
03:30And hopefully the clients kind of see that.
03:33You know, good varied projects, different types of clients.
03:36So, yeah, kind of adaptability as well, I think, maybe.
03:39Yeah.
03:40We're just hoping that it keeps snowballing like it is,
03:43and we can keep growing and come back next year for a different award.
03:47Yeah, absolutely.
03:48Yeah, you'll be sweeping the floor next year.
03:50Hopefully.
03:55So, you guys are here because Co-op Live is just one commercial development of the year.
03:59So, how does it feel to win?
04:01Amazing.
04:02It feels fantastic.
04:03I mean, it's been a team effort from start to finish.
04:06From, this is a project that's been six years in the making.
04:09And it's been a lot of hard work.
04:11It's been well publicised over the last sort of 12 months.
04:14But I think the venue is fantastic, and it's going from strength to strength.
04:17And, you know, it's from the great team that we've had working on it.
04:20And why do you think the judges picked you?
04:22I think it's a great venue.
04:26I think it's iconic.
04:27I think it's made a real difference to Manchester, the North West, but also nationally.
04:32I think it's obviously great design.
04:35And I think it's been, yeah, it's just a really important building for the North West.
04:40Hi, I'm Karen Hurst.
04:47I'm Managing Director of Maple Grove Developments, part of the Eric Wright Group.
04:51And you've just been crowned our property personality every year, so how does it feel?
04:55I'm still shaking.
04:56I'm a little bit in shock.
04:58Absolutely didn't expect it.
05:01It was so lovely walking up to the stage, just the response from people on the tables.
05:06I'm very overwhelmed.
05:07Did you get an inkling when you heard the intro when it's talking about your career?
05:10When you heard a bit about Salford, there's a lot of people who've been involved in the regeneration of Salford.
05:15It's never just one person.
05:17It's always a team of people.
05:19And then when you then went on to the other bits, I started to think, hang on a minute.
05:25This is sounding a bit familiar.
05:27Brilliant.
05:28And so you didn't expect to win, but why do you feel the judges picked you?
05:33Well, I've been in the industry for quite a while.
05:36I feel I have done what it says on the tin, and I've actually tried to deliver and do things in all the different places.
05:44I've worked and all the different businesses I've worked for.
05:48Not that it's been a huge amount.
05:50It's lovely to get that recognition.
05:52I think I'm quite well known in the industry, and perhaps that's why they picked me.
05:58I don't know.
05:59Fantastic.
06:00You'd have to ask them.
06:01And have you been coming to these awards for a while, I presume?
06:04Yes, I have.
06:05I'm not sure if I was at the first one, but I have been to quite a few of the fin side of property awards.
06:09And how do you find it as a night? Do you enjoy it?
06:11I think it's a great night.
06:12I think it's really well organised.
06:15You always get an amazing attendance that you've got 103 tables, haven't you, tonight.
06:19So you've got the great and the good from the property industry here.
06:22Fantastic.
06:23And finally, what can we expect to see from you and from Maple Grove in the next year?
06:27Well, we're a small team, but part of a fantastic company, and we just want to do more and more good things in the North West, which is our home.
06:36And in Lancashire, we've got Lancashire Central coming forward.
06:40Obviously, Animate, which was highly commended tonight, which is fantastic.
06:43And we've got other projects in Greater Manchester and other things that we're working on.
06:48So you'll hear more about those soon, hopefully.
06:51That's what's it well. Enjoy the rest of your night and congratulations again.
06:54Very worthy, worthy.
