00:00The team in second place currently right now is the New York Mets. And as we started the show
00:03talking about it, the Mets went first place for the majority of the early parts of the season.
00:07Now slipping back just a little bit because why? They're playing good baseball teams. The Phillies
00:11have won a lot of games in a row. That's going to happen. The ebbs and flows of a Major League
00:15Baseball season. But there was a big quandary that was started up with Juan Soto. Maybe unhappy
00:20he's with the Mets. And, you know, is he flying on private jets outside of his teammates here and
00:25what his family's doing? What do you have to say about the Juan Soto situation? And is it
00:30completely overblown right now or something to watch for the Mets going forward?
00:35I want to say it's a combination. It is overblown to an extent. And I want to say it's a combination
00:41of he's been good this season. Average good. He hasn't been great. Like he hasn't been the
00:46Juan Soto. Like, oh, Juan Soto, $700 million. So the fact that there's like some minor storylines
00:53happening in the clubhouse, off the field, whatever it might be, combined with him being
00:57average, like they're like, okay, now we actually got to talk about it. And obviously the New York
01:01media is not going to be easy on him when it comes to these extracurriculars, whatever you want to
01:04call it. So it's a combination of the struggles and the off the field things. For the Mets,
01:08though, I think they will clamp things down. And based on what they've done since Steve Cohen,
01:12the owner, has taken over, they are always willing to go all chips into the middle, whether it's
01:16in-season trades, whether it's when they went and got Lindor, Javi Baez, obviously making the
01:21contract offers for. Senga, for Soto, like they will make moves. So despite early season
01:27struggles with Soto himself, the rest of the team has been good. And I think they will figure
01:31things out eventually. I have more interest in the Phillies because talking about their
01:35pitching staff, Mick Abel made his MLB debut last week and he was great. And also Painter is on his
01:42way up. So the bullpen may be struggling, but they actually have some flexibility overall with their
01:46pitching staff.
