00:00Rim, pop another plate on top, and when it's dry, you'll have a hand drum like this!
00:06And we're ready to play?
00:07Let's rock!
00:11And there'll be more musical fun later on in Zingzilla's.
00:14But now it's time for Charlie and Lola.
00:22Charlie!
00:27Lola?
00:29Charlie!
00:42Charlie and Lola!
00:47I am extremely, absolutely boiling!
00:53I have this little sister Lola.
00:57She is small.
01:00And very funny.
01:02And today she is very, very hot.
01:06Because today is a very, very hot day.
01:11I'm not just hot, Charlie.
01:14I am extremely, absolutely boiling!
01:23And the only thing that will make me completely not boiling anymore
01:28is a strawberry ice cream.
01:31Yum!
01:35Charlie!
01:36It's so hot!
01:42Hello, Lola.
01:45Hello.
01:46Hello, Arnold.
01:47Roger.
01:53What are you doing, Arnold?
01:55In my big book about dogs, I found out that dogs keep cool by panting.
02:03I'm trying to see if it works.
02:08Arnold, could you pant a little bit more quieter, please?
02:13Your panting is making me nervous.
02:15I'm sorry.
02:16Arnold, could you pant a little bit more quieter, please?
02:20Your panting is making me more hot.
02:23Why don't you try panting, too?
02:25Because I'm not a dog, Arnold.
02:27Oh, OK.
02:29Would you like me to fan you with your big leaf, then?
02:36Oops!
02:37Arnold!
02:38You have completely ruined my leaf!
02:42Never mind, Lola.
02:47Oh!
02:59The ice cream van!
03:01Come on, Lola, let's get mum!
03:03I've got pocket money for ice cream, too.
03:06I'll wait here for you.
03:09You know, Charlie, Arnold is making me extremely hot.
03:14He's too buzzy.
03:23Yum!
03:24Mmm, yummy.
03:25I know! I'll taste your ice cream and you can taste mine.
03:30OK, me first.
03:38Oh, no!
03:39My ice cream is completely all over the floor!
03:43Oh.
03:45Never mind, Lola.
03:46Maybe Arnold will share his ice cream with you.
03:51Will you slightly share your ice cream with me?
04:01No.
04:03You're not my favourite or my best, Arnold Wolf.
04:07I absolutely don't want to be your friend anymore!
04:13Oops.
04:18Lola, you didn't mean to do it.
04:21Charlie, I will not ever, never forgive Arnold Wolf.
04:26He's being a meanie!
04:29Do you want some of my ice cream, Lola?
04:31Uh-uh.
04:37Ice is good for cooling.
04:39But not as nice-tasting as ice cream.
04:42I wish we were in the North Pole.
04:44Yes, where it's completely freezing cold.
04:57Hello.
04:58Hello, Marv.
04:59Hello, Morten.
05:00We're going to see what we want our two little cousins.
05:04Huh?
05:05Hmm?
05:06He said we're going swimming at the open-air pool with our cousins.
05:10Mm-hmm.
05:11Mm-hmm.
05:12Ooh.
05:13Ooh, that'll be fun.
05:14The pool has got a brand-new curly slide.
05:17Ah!
05:19Whee!
05:22Ha-ha-ha!
05:23Ha-ha-ha!
05:24Ha-ha-ha!
05:25Ha-ha-ha!
05:26Yummy!
05:27Whee!
05:28Ha-ha-ha!
05:29Ha-ha-ha!
05:31Ooh, that'll be fun.
05:33Ha-ha-ha!
05:34Ha-ha-ha!
05:35Ooh, that'll be great.
05:37Yeah, it's going to be a bit cooler and slower.
05:40Uh, anyway, got to go now.
05:42Can we come too?
05:44Uh, sorry, Lola.
05:46There isn't any room in the car.
05:48We've got my mum and my dad and my brother Marty and then me and Morten.
05:53Oh.
05:54Maybe Arnold will come out to play later, Lola.
05:57I'm not playing with him.
05:59Lola and Arnold are not friends at the moment, Marv.
06:02Arnold Wolf is a meanie-pegs.
06:04Oh.
06:05I'm sure he didn't mean to be a meanie-pegs.
06:08Well, he was one.
06:11Hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm.
06:14Ha-ha-ha-ha!
06:16Keep going, Charlie.
06:19Hee-hee!
06:20Look what Mum found for us.
06:22Squeaky bottles!
06:23Hee-hee!
06:24Come on!
06:25Ha-ha-ha-ha!
06:26Whoo!
06:27Coming to get you, Lola.
06:29Ha-ha-ha-ha!
06:31Got you!
06:32Oh, Lola!
06:34Ha-ha-ha-ha!
06:35Ha-ha-ha-ha!
06:36Oh.
06:37Ha-ha-ha-ha!
06:38Ha-ha-ha-ha!
06:39Come on, Dino.
06:41You're going to have a very splashy-wet splash.
06:44Ha-ha-ha-ha!
06:45Splish-splash-splash!
06:47Ha-ha-ha-ha!
06:48Ha-ha-ha-ha!
06:49Ha-ha-ha-ha!
06:50Ha-ha-ha-ha!
06:51Ha-ha-ha-ha!
06:52It looks like rapids.
06:54Yes, rapids.
06:56What's a rapid?
06:57Really fast water.
06:59Oh.
07:00Ha-ha-ha-ha!
07:02Come on, Lola!
07:04Whoo!
07:06Ha-ha-ha-ha!
07:08Whoo-hoo!
07:10Ha-ha-ha-ha!
07:11Whoo-hoo!
07:13This is great, Charlie.
07:15Whoo!
07:17It's a waterfall.
07:20Come on, Lola.
07:22Ha-ha-ha-ha!
07:23Ha-ha-ha-ha!
07:24Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
07:26Ha-ha-ha-ha!
07:27Ha-ha!
07:28Oh, the water's gone.
07:35Never mind, there's more in the hosepipe.
07:39Huh?
07:40Oh.
07:41Wow!
07:42I wonder who this is.
07:45Do you like my paddling pool?
07:48Ooh, that would definitely cool us down.
07:52Don't you think, Lola?
07:56Come on, Charlie.
08:04Arnold didn't mean to knock your ice cream on the ground.
08:07I know, Charlie.
08:09But he wouldn't share.
08:11And he wouldn't say sorry either.
08:13But we need the hosepipe to fill up all our containers.
08:16And that means asking Arnold if we can borrow it back.
08:20Hmm.
08:22Well, you could ask him, Charlie.
08:26Okay.
08:31I bet it's really, really cold.
08:34Hurry up, Charlie.
08:46Lola, it might be a really, really good idea
08:50to forgive Arnold.
08:52Then maybe we can play in his paddling pool too.
08:56Ooh, splash!
08:58It would be much more fun in the paddling pool.
09:01But I am having fun playing here with my water.
09:05Hmm.
09:07Charlie, would you like to play in my paddling pool?
09:11And Lola?
09:15Tell Arnold.
09:18Tell Arnold that we're very extremely happy
09:22splashing over here, Charlie.
09:25Oh.
09:29Splish, splash, splish, splash.
09:32Hmm.
09:34Splish, splash.
09:37Ah.
09:39Oh, come on.
09:41But he didn't say sorry, Charlie.
09:45Hmm.
09:47Well, he looks sorry, Lola.
09:49Does he?
09:51Hmm.
09:55Please would you like to sit in my paddling pool, Lola?
10:00Yes, please.
10:08I'm sorry about the ice cream, Lola.
10:10That's okay, Arnold.
10:12Do you want to play squirty bottles?
10:14Yes, please.
10:15Charlie, can you pass Arnold a squirty bottle?
10:18I can't.
10:19Look, Arnold's dad has given us all an ice lolly.
10:23Great! Ice lolly!
10:29My lolly.
10:31Hmm.
10:37Do you want a bit of mine?
10:39Thanks, Lola.
10:41Charlie.
11:12Welcome to the band
11:15Let me show you round
11:18Each one hands a hand
11:20Making the Zing Zilla sound
11:23Why not come along to Zing Zilla's
11:26Take a look around
11:28Music, fun and songs on Zing Zilla's
11:31Making the Zing Zilla sound
11:34Everyone can sing along with the Zing Zilla's.
11:37Today at eight, only on Zing Zilla's.
11:40Oh, yeah!
11:42Wrinkles out of spots that are downright stickly
11:44How he does that, only he can tell
11:47Giggly, burny, molly and die
11:49Then never miss a chance to have too much fun
11:52Buntara or Rallo
11:54Lots of excitement for everyone
11:57Curiosity's in a hurry
11:59Leaving no time to stop and think
12:01The life between wild and crazy gets blurry
12:04Checking the images off pavely weights
12:08Jangers!
12:09It's the tales of our pal Piggly
12:11Ireland is the world he loves so well
12:13Wrinkles out of spots that are downright stickly
12:15How he does that, only he can tell
12:18Giggly, burny, molly and die
12:20Then never miss a chance to have too much fun
12:23Buntara or Rallo
12:25Lots of excitement for everyone
12:28Curiosity's in a hurry
12:30Leaving no time to stop and think
12:32The life between wild and crazy gets blurry
12:34Jangers!
12:36Something in the way his eyes start blazing
12:38Tells us he's on to a brand new plan
12:41His lips curl up, it's downright amazing
12:43Looking for a mischief, well he's your man
12:46Giggly, burny, molly and die
12:48Then never miss a chance to have too much fun
12:51Buntara or Rallo
12:53Lots of excitement for everyone
12:55Jangers!
12:56He's sort of bad just to wake up early
12:57To get in trouble or on the brink
13:00The life between wild and crazy gets blurry
13:02Jangers!
13:03Adventures of Piggly Wings
13:34He's the one who taught me how much fun it is
13:36To weed the garden
13:37Really? Is fun to pull weeds?
13:40Sure, why do you think I do it so often?
13:42Um, can I try it?
13:45Well now, I'm not so sure
13:47It's not as easy as it looks, you know
13:49I can do it
13:51Do you think you're up to the challenge there, Meg?
13:54Yes, let me try, please
13:59I'm guessing you haven't finished reading
14:01Tom Sawyer yet, have you Meg?
14:03Well, no
14:05You see, old Tom is a master
14:07At getting other people to do his work for him
14:10The same way I just got you to do my weeding for me
14:13You mean weeding isn't really fun?
14:15Well, it's not as much fun as reading a book anyway
14:18Oh, I'm not going to read Tom Sawyer
14:21I'm going to watch the DVD
14:23You're not going to read it?
14:25Nope, watching it is a lot easier than reading a whole big book
14:29I suppose it is easier
14:31I mean, you can let someone else paint the pictures for you
14:34Instead of using your own imagination to create the world in your own unique way
14:39Well, yeah
14:41I used to think that way myself, Meggie
14:44That is, until one day, back in Ireland
14:50I was at school, hard at work as usual
14:53When my teacher threw me a challenge that I was almost too stubborn to take
14:59Piggly?
15:01Uh, yes sir, Mr. Hornsby
15:04May I see you at my desk, please?
15:12Oh, what have you gone and done this time, Piggly?
15:15Oh, good luck to you, Piggly
15:17Fernando, I'd like to see you as well
15:19Oh, Jenny Mac
15:24You can relax, boys
15:26You're not in trouble
15:29Today
15:32They're not in any trouble, class
15:36I called you boys up here to congratulate you on how well you've been doing in class
15:42Especially with your reading
15:44Thank you, Mr. Hornsby, thank you
15:47I think you're both ready to tackle something a bit more challenging this time
15:54This book is an old favourite of mine
15:57It's called Finn McCool
16:06Uh, Mr. Hornsby, thank you for the book and all that, but I think mine is broken
16:11Mine too
16:13Broken?
16:14Well, sir, there aren't any pictures in it
16:17No, not one
16:19That's right, there are no pictures
16:22I told you this book would be a challenge
16:25Finn McCool? Sounds like a fish
16:31Now, I'm looking forward to hearing how you boys like it when you return from the weekend
16:37But...
16:38Oh, boy
16:40You may go back to your seats now
16:44Mr. Hornsby had given us the whole weekend to read the book
16:49So as soon as I got home from school, I figured I had better get down to it
16:58Later
17:04Of course, later turned into even later
17:14Later
17:26And even later soon turned into even later still
17:31Later
17:43Before I knew it, it was Sunday morning and I hadn't even read the first page
17:50So, uh, Fernie, what was your favourite part of the book then?
17:54Well, uh, I can't really say for sure
18:00What was your favourite part?
18:04Oh, that's a tough one, I can't really decide on that
18:08Did you boys like the part where Finn McCool swims right into the mouth of an octopus?
18:13Oh, I almost forgot that part, Dannon
18:16Me too
18:17What happened next?
18:20Oh, you want to know what happened next?
18:22Nothing happened next because there isn't one single octopus in the entire book
18:27I can't understand how you two can be so afraid of reading a teeny tiny book
18:32Just because it doesn't have any pictures in it
18:34I'd never believe it if I wasn't hearing it with me very own ears
18:37We're not scared, uh, we're just not sure we're going to like it, that's all
18:41That's right, we might not like it
18:43Oh, you crackers, you're going to love it, especially the part where Finn McCool takes a big...
18:48Huh?
18:50Oh, no you don't
18:52I'm not going to tell you the story, you're just going to have to read the book yourself
19:04Well, that's it then
19:06Fernie, where are you going?
19:09To read the fish book, I'll see you tomorrow
19:15Fernie had decided to give up his whole day just to read that book
19:20But I had a better idea
19:22Surely someone other than Darren had read The Adventures of Finn McCool and could tell me the whole story
19:30Oh, Piggly, it's a grand book
19:33It was one of my favourites when I was your age
19:35Really? You know, Mammy, you work much too hard
19:39You really should take a rest
19:44Why don't we sit down here and have a chat, just you and me?
19:50Time for you to play outside, Molly, you need some fresh air in those cheeks of yours
19:57So, what would you like us to talk about, little man?
20:00Well, anything you like, Mammy
20:02Well then, how about...
20:04Finn McCool, that'd be a brilliant thing to talk about, it being one of your favourite books and all that
20:10Oh, I've always loved that book
20:13What exactly would you say you love about it then?
20:16Oh, it's just delightful, it's very exciting and funny as well
20:22What part would you say is the funniest?
20:25Well, let me think now
20:28I'd say the funniest part would have to be...
20:32The part where I laugh the loudest
20:36You're not going to tell me what the book's about, are you, Mammy?
20:39Oh, Piggly dear, I just want you to enjoy reading it as much as I did
20:45Of course you do
20:51Finn McCool? Well, of course I've read it, four times so I did
20:56Then would you be up to talking about it man-to-man-like?
21:00Well, that would be grandson, but I've got chores to do
21:04Finnigan has to be fed, the eggs need to be gathered and the cow needs...
21:08I'll help you with all that, Dad
21:15Beep! Beep!
21:20Pardon me, excuse me, pardon me
21:45Inside with you, Molly, you don't want to get too much sun
21:55There, the chores are all done, Dad, now we can talk
21:59Ah, well, thank you, Piggly
22:01So, you want to talk about Finn McCool, dear?
22:05That's right
22:06You want to discuss everything about it?
22:08Absolutely everything
22:10Top to bottom, from cover to cover?
22:12Backwards and forwards
22:13All right then, you first
22:18I'll just leave you to gather your thoughts, son
22:21I didn't have much luck getting my parents to tell me the story, but I wasn't about to give up
22:34So I went travelling all over Tar looking for someone who would share the tale with me
22:43Beep! Beep!
22:57A fish! Piggly, my boy, Finn McCool is not a fish
23:06No, of course he isn't, I was just having you on, Captain Kimara
23:10Finn McCool's story's nothing to laugh about, Piggly
23:14Why, Finn is one of the great heroes of Irish legend, so he is
23:19He's a hero?
23:20Aye, are you saying that you've never read about the great giant Finn McCool?
23:27He's a giant?
23:28Aye, the biggest giant you ever did see
23:32They say he was taller than the tallest tree
23:36Jakers!
23:37A friend to all the Irish he was
23:40Single-handedly he'd defend the island from armies, taking on whole fleets of ships by himself
23:47What did he look like, Captain? Was he handsome? Did he wear a hat? What colour were his boots?
23:52Well now, that's completely up to you, Piggly
23:56This tale isn't some little picture book, you know
24:00This is a great grown-up legend about the tallest, bravest, most helpful man in all of Ireland
24:09Finn lived happily in a cottage on Knockmanny Hill with his lovely wife, Oona
24:30Aye, aye, aye, aye, aye, aye!
24:37Then one fateful day, another giant made his way across the Irish sea to Ireland
24:45His name was McConagall, and he was even bigger than the giant Finn himself
24:52McConagall was a mean, nasty fella, who'd just as soon break you in half as look at you
25:01But it wasn't enough that he was bigger than Finn, he wanted to prove he was stronger as well
25:07And he wasn't going to be nice about it
25:15Finn McCool, I'm calling you out
25:23Who's there?
25:27McConagall, the giant, the strongest in the world
25:32Now Finn McCool didn't frighten easily, but he did wonder just how strong this McConagall fella was
25:41So himself and Oona plotted a way to find out
25:47Oh, McConagall the giant
25:53I'm sorry to say that me husband isn't home at the moment, but oh, how I wish he were
26:02For you see, I'm suffering terribly, suffering I say
26:06The wind has been blowing through the doorway, giving me the most disagreeable chill
26:15And if me husband Finn McCool were here, which he isn't
26:21He would simply pick up the entire house and turn the door away from the wind
26:26So I wouldn't suffer anymore
26:29I'm wondering sir, while you're waiting for Finn, who isn't here, could you move the house for me?
26:36Unless of course, it's too heavy for you
26:39Anything McCool can do, I can do
26:44Finn and Oona knew the house was impossible to lift
26:50That's why they were so surprised when suddenly the house came up off the ground
26:57Ooh, yikes!
27:10Now, I'll wait right here until Finn McCool returns home
27:17McConagall was the strongest giant that Finn had ever seen
27:21It was clear that there was no chance he could beat him in a contest of strength
27:27Cakers! So what did Finn do, Captain Kamara? What happened next?
27:32Well now, what happened next was more amazing than a two-headed sea serpent
27:41But that's enough storytelling for today
27:44I've got to go and mend me fishing nets
27:47What? No! Captain Kamara, you just can't stop a story in the middle of it
27:53Not at the most exciting part
27:55It's... it's bad manners
27:57It might even be against the law to do that
28:00I assure we can finish the story next week
28:03Next week?
28:05Or maybe the week after
28:08No! Just give me a hint
28:10Do they fight? Does McConagall beat up Finn McCool? Does Finn run away?
28:14Please, Captain Kamara, I've got to know what happens
28:18Well, let's think now
28:21Is there any other way you can find out what happens?
28:44Do you think bigger than Finn?
28:46Not home, must bring a chair
28:48McConagall pick up a house
28:52The giant McConagall sat down to wait for Finn
28:55Now there was no chance for Finn to escape
28:58Uh-oh, he's a goner
29:00All seemed lost for the Irish giant and his lovely wife
29:05Then Finn and Oona had to find a way out
29:08All seemed lost for the Irish giant and his lovely wife
29:12Then Finn and Oona had an idea
29:18Well, if you insist on waiting for Finn
29:21Who isn't here?
29:23You might as well come inside
29:25You can wait with me
29:27And the baby
29:29That's a baby
29:31Of course it is
29:33That's Finn McCool's baby
29:35It was my dada
29:39That's a good one, Finn
29:41McConagall had never seen such a large baby
29:48But what he would see next was even more surprising
29:56You may be my husband's enemy
29:58But that's no reason to deny your hospitality
30:01Would you care for some bread?
30:03What McConagall didn't know was that inside the bread
30:07Oona had hidden an iron pot
30:14That's the hardest bread I've ever had
30:17I'd break my teeth eating this
30:20But this is the only kind of bread Finn and his baby eat
30:25The baby eats this?
30:27Of course
30:29Of course, there was no iron pot in Finn's bread
30:33So he bit into it with ease
30:35That baby has the strongest teeth I've ever seen
30:40They're strong, all right
30:42And someday they might even be as strong as his father's teeth are
30:47Mama, I want milk
30:49Time for milk
30:51Mr. McConagall, sir
30:53Would you mind terribly milking some stones for the baby?
30:57Milk from stones?
31:00Of course, where else do you get milk?
31:02Usually Finn does the milking
31:04But you know, he's not here
31:08Anything McCool can do, I can do
31:12Everyone knows it's impossible to get milk out of a stone
31:15But the giant McConagall kept right on trying
31:18Well, hurry up there if you don't mind
31:20The baby is hungry
31:22Mama, I want me milk
31:24Where's me milk?
31:26Put some effort into it, why don't you?
31:29What kind of giant are you?
31:31You can't even get milk out of a stone
31:33Never mind, I'll have the baby do it himself
31:36A baby getting his own milk, I never thought I'd see the day
31:41But instead of a stone, Oona picked up a round of cheese
31:45And while you can never get milk from a stone
31:47You can get milk from a wheel of cheese if you squeeze it hard enough
31:55That's the strongest baby I've ever seen
31:59Let's have a closer look at him
32:03No!
32:21Mr. McGonagall, sir, where are you going?
32:23I thought you wanted to wait for Finn McCool
32:26Never mind, if that's the baby, I don't want to meet the father
32:34Ha!
32:37McGonagall may have been bigger
32:39But Finn McCool and his wife were smarter
32:42The end
32:45Mr. Hornsby, that book you gave us was brilliant
32:48Oh, Jenny Mac, Finn McCool is a wonderful fella
32:52And clever as well, he reminded me a lot of me
32:55Oh, do you really think so?
32:57The first time I read it, I pictured him looking a lot like me
33:01The first time you read it?
33:03Oh, yes, I read it three times
33:06And each time the giant McGonagall got bigger and meaner
33:13Taking the time to read that book helped Fernie and me realise
33:18That a good author can write pictures
33:21That seem to magically appear inside your own imagination
33:25That's really good, Grandpa
33:27It is indeed, Meg
33:29So, in your imagination, Finn looked like you and Una looked like Dannan
33:35But what did McGonagall look like?
33:37Well now, what does he look like to you?
33:41Okay, Grandpa, you convinced me
33:45I'll read Tom Sawyer and see what kind of pictures get painted in my imagination
33:50That's grand, Meg. I know you'll enjoy every page
33:55I think Tom is going to look just like me
33:59Meg, as Tom Sawyer, I know. Why not?

34:45Do you know what that is?
34:47Let's have a listen again and see if you can guess
34:55Is it the cow, the pig or the sheep?
35:02Yes
35:06It was the pig
35:08Well done. You and I found a sound
