00:00An imam from a mosque in Pontian drowned after falling from a boat near the Kampung Semaloi
00:07jetty in Endau early Tuesday morning. The Johor Fire and Rescue Department's Operations
00:12Center received a distress call regarding the incident at 2.25 a.m. Upon arrival, rescuers
00:20launched a search and rescue operation using surface search techniques approximately 100
00:25meters from the jetty, the location where the victim was last seen. Endau Fire Station Chief
00:31Mohamed Alias Hassan said the operation was temporarily suspended at 3.30 a.m. due to
00:38safety concerns and poor visibility. The search resumed at 8 a.m. with both surface and windshield
00:44wiper search methods. The victim's body was recovered at 12 p.m., about 100 meters from
00:50the jetty. The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Mohamed Al-Hafiz Madyunos.
00:55His remains were handed over to the police at 12.15 p.m. for further action.
