00:08The Robins' staff were set to hold individual meetings with players at the Robins High Performance Centre,
00:15where they would reflect on the season before heading off on their retrospective breaks.
00:22City's first play-off appearance in 17 years ended with heartbreak,
00:26despite the heavy 3-0 defeat at both Ashton Gate and Bramall Lane.
00:31The aggregate score finished 6-0 in favour of Chris Wilder's Sheffield United.
00:36After a disappointing first leg at home, the tie was put beyond doubt with goals from Kiefer Moore, Gustavo Hamer and Callum O'Hare in the return leg.
00:46Though the season ended in frustration, it has undoubtedly been a positive one for the Robins.
00:51Few expected them to finish in the top six after the start to the campaign.
00:55Not only did they secure a play-off spot, but they also delivered standout performances,
01:01including a late home win against West Brom and a crucial victory over Sunderland on Good Friday.
01:08Manning and his staff were scheduled to meet the players on Tuesday to reflect on their efforts before heading into the break.
01:14Despite their uphill battle following the first leg's loss, Manning's team started brightly in the return leg.
01:20Scott Twine had an early chance and Naki Wells and Jason Knight both tested goalkeeper Michael Cooper.
01:27It feels like it's been 17 years as well, the season is.
01:30It's been a tough year for me and a huge thank you for the lads and everyone around the club for supporting me through it.
01:36I'm ready for a break, I definitely know that.
01:38But it's been a fantastic season, I think, in terms of the progress that's been made from the last 18 months.
01:44And the lads should be proud of that.
01:46The staff obviously played a huge part, should be proud of that.
01:48And as should the fans, you know, they've turned up tonight and I thought were terrific on, you know,
01:52what's a difficult evening, you know, coming up here knowing what the challenge is.
01:55But, you know, they've still got behind the lads, still singing at the end.
01:58And, yeah, for me, from the lads and the staff, a huge thank you for their support throughout the whole season.
02:04I'm so proud of the progress they've made, Manning said,
02:07expressing his pride in the team's resilience and growth throughout the season.
