00:00I am a member of the Miss World.
00:03I am a member of Miss Gayano.
00:08I am a member of Miss Gayano.
00:10I am a member of Miss Gayano.
00:12I am a member of Miss Gayano.
00:14Hi, Miss Gayano.
00:16How are you feeling in visiting Hyderabad and India?
00:19I am feeling totally great, magnificent, elated.
00:22Thank you so much, Harishabad and Elangana for having me.
00:26Is this the first time that you are visiting India and particularly Hyderabad?
00:30Yes, this is my first time. It is.
00:32And I am finding it so lovely.
00:36You are here for a few days, no?
00:38Last five days you are here, I think so, from the starting one.
00:41So, how was the food and the weather here?
00:44You like the people here more?
00:46Yes, I love the people here. They welcome me like family.
00:49I felt elated coming in from the airport.
00:52The food so far is amazing.
00:54It is different from what I am accustomed to in Gayano.
00:57The spices are a little more, but I am enjoying it so far.
01:01Is there any particular cuisine of Telangana that you really liked?
01:05I can't pronounce the name right, but it is a rice.
01:09It has seasoning and stuff like that inside.
01:12I can't remember the name, but I love that.
01:14It is a rice though.
01:15Yeah.
01:16Okay.
01:17So, there is a starting day.
01:18First day, a program was there in Gachiboli Stadium.
01:21And then you went to Charmer yesterday.
01:23And you visited Nalgonda.
01:25So, how was that?
01:27You went to Buddha, right?
01:28I haven't went there yet.
01:30I am heading there today.
01:32However, this palace yesterday was real nice.
01:35I felt like the queen I am, truly blessed.
01:38The people are very welcoming.
01:40The music was amazing.
01:41I don't know if you guys saw me dancing going in.
01:44Because the music reminds me of my culture back home in Guyana.
01:48So, being here in India is just like, I am home.
01:53Because the culture, the tradition is similar or the same.
01:57You went to Charmer, no?
01:58So, how much the history that you came to know when visiting there?
02:03I came to know lots of history that I didn't know.
02:06Thank you so much to the person that was elated to tell us about the history.
02:10I learned a lot yesterday.
02:13Okay.
02:14So, every beauty here carrying a purpose.
02:16So, what's the purpose that you are carrying?
02:18So, my beauty with a purpose is called Read, Rise and Shine.
02:22It's an initiative dedicated to kids with disabilities.
02:26Providing safe space for them so that they can learn and grow.
02:29We all know that traditional classroom was not made for kids with disabilities.
02:33So, I brought that hope to them.
02:35Giving them a sense of purpose so that they can grow.
02:38They can learn and they become better leaders in the future.
02:41A part of my beauty with a purpose, I built the first ever,
02:45Solar Panel Mobile Library in the world.
02:48So, I brought the library for the kids.
02:51And it's equipped with AI technology so that they can have that sense of hope.
02:56That sense of purpose.
02:58To belong.
02:59To know that the world is with them.
03:01Don't matter the developmental challenges.
03:03I am with them.
03:04And I'll be with them till the end.
03:06This purpose was birthed from my brother because he's brain damaged.
03:10And he's been like that for 21 years.
03:12So, seeing him growing every single day.
03:15Now, being able to sit in a traditional classroom has pushed me.
03:19Pushed me beyond my limits so that kids with developmental issues can have somebody that cares for them.
03:26Loves them.
03:27And show them that they are the future.
03:30At what age these interest of beauty pageants came into your life?
03:35Okay.
03:36So, I have been into beauty pageants since I was 11 years old.
03:39It's always been my dream to be on the international stage and make a mark or make an history for my country.
03:45And I've been doing that so far since I've been here.
03:48So, this is like a dream come true.
03:50And I'm walking in an answered prayer.
03:52So, I must say thank you to the Almighty God for putting me in this place so that I can push my passion and I can push my purpose.
03:58Not just in Guyana but worldwide.
04:01Ever since I was 11, I would sit and I would watch pageantry on the TV with my grandma.
04:07And I would tell her, I'll be there one day and look at me today.
04:10So, definitely I've given up any dreams.
04:13This is my dream and I'm living in it.
04:15So, who's the one person that you encouraged you more in your family?
04:18My mom.
04:20Her strength and her resilience has pushed me every single day.
04:24My mom is a single mother.
04:26She's been single.
04:27She's raised three of us.
04:29And I must say seeing her persevere every single day just to make ends meet for us.
04:35Even having a brother that is disabled, that woman is the power.
04:39She is the powerhouse.
04:40So, my mother definitely.
04:42She's the one who encouraged you more.
04:44Is there any particular thing that you want to really do for your mother or you want to dedicate something for your mother?
04:51Yes, the crown.
04:52The crown.
04:53The crown.
04:54There is no greater gift than giving her the Miss Roe crown.
04:57I wish you all the best and I wish you must win that crown.
05:01As you said, it is for your mother.
05:03All the best.
05:05So, thank you very much.
05:06Thank you for your death.
05:08Thank you so much for joining us.
