00:00Hello, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. It's been a dry start
00:05to the weekend for many of us, all thanks to high pressure, but it has been feeling
00:08a little bit cooler than it did towards the end of last week. That's all thanks to this
00:11area of high pressure to the north of the UK, bringing in northerly or northeasterly winds.
00:15It's dragging in some cooler air from the Arctic. But as that high pressure slips southwards
00:19across the UK as we go into the middle part of the week, it generally brings those temperatures
00:23up day on day. Gradual warming trend by the time we get towards the end of the week. Back
00:28to the rest of Sunday though, and we will still see one or two isolated showers feeding
00:32in from the North Sea across eastern parts of England, though these generally very light
00:36and scattered. And for much of the country, it will be a dry night to come. Plenty of clear
00:40spells on offer. And with light winds, that does mean we could see the odd patch of mist
00:43and fog, particularly across the northern half of the country. And also likely to see
00:47a bit of frost developing here too, where we do see those clear skies, perhaps down to
00:51minus one or minus two in places. But towns and cities will generally be holding up above
00:55zero, around the mid to perhaps high single figures. But that does still mean it's going
00:59to be quite a chilly start to bank holiday Monday for many of us. But a bright start
01:03too. Any mist and fog soon clearing through the morning. It will always be a little bit
01:07cloudier across the very far southeast. We'll see some showers feeding in across
01:11southeastern parts of England. Maybe one or two heavier downpours here. But for much
01:15of the rest of the country, plenty of blue skies, plenty of sunshine. And with light winds,
01:19it will be feeling pleasant in that sunshine too. Highs in the south, 16, 17, perhaps even
01:2318 degrees. In the north, around 13 or 14 degrees. But always feeling just that little
01:28bit cooler across eastern coast with that onshore breeze. As we then go through Monday evening,
01:34any showers that we see across the south and southeast will gradually start to ease, leaving
01:39a dry and clear night for most of us. Plenty of clear spells on offer. One or two isolated
01:43showers just affecting Shetland and Orkney into the early hours of Tuesday morning. But under
01:47those clear skies, that does mean quite a widespread frost across the country. So another chilly start
01:52to the day on Tuesday. Perhaps as low as minus three or minus four in some spots. But again,
01:57towns and cities will be holding up above zero in the mid or high single figures.
02:02So another chilly start to the day across much of the country on Tuesday morning. We will start
02:06to see a bit of cloud just feeding in across eastern parts of England as we go towards the
02:10afternoon. But for the most part, plenty of dry weather around, plenty of sunshine and blue skies
02:14on offer. And again, with light winds, it will be feeling pleasant where we do see that sunshine.
02:18With temperatures, again, a little above average across the southwest, 16, 17 or 18 degrees,
02:24perhaps even 16 degrees across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland too. But again,
02:28always feeling that little bit cooler with that onshore breeze across eastern parts of England,
02:32with temperatures struggling to reach much above 12 or 13 degrees here. And again,
02:36it will be feeling a little bit cooler than that still.
02:39That sets us up quite nicely as we go through much of next week with high pressure very much
02:42in charge. But you can find out more about that by hitting subscribe to our YouTube channel.
02:46Bye for now.
