WATCH: Calare's Nationals candidate, Sam Farraway, says he is waiting for all the votes to be counted as it looks likely incumbent Andrew Gee will retain the seat.

00:00Ladies and gentlemen, the reality is we don't really have a result tonight.

00:04And we don't have a result because 52% of the voters in Calair have pre-cult.

00:10So over half of the electorate has voted earlier.

00:15Those votes are going to take time to count.

00:18I suspect we're going to be counting for a couple of days

00:21to determine what the result will be.

00:25I said from the beginning that this was a huge contest in Calair

00:29and that is good for democracy.

00:31So I still maintain that because people have had choice.

00:35They've had a real contest in our Alastricht and our region.

00:42What we're comparing is it will come down to preferences.

00:45It always was. It was always going to come down to preferences.

00:49But I suspect the seat will come down to the wire.

00:53So respectfully, I'm going to wait until every single vote is counted.

00:58I think every candidate that ran in this election should do the same

01:01because let's see what ends up in the final wash.

01:05But what I do want to say is this was a team effort.

01:10This was a team effort.

01:11We demonstrated, whatever the result is, that the National Party is solid in Calair,

01:17is solid in the Central West, and it doesn't matter, win or lose.

01:22We are here to represent rural and regional Australia,

01:25and that includes the Central West, that includes Calair,

01:28and whatever the result, we're going to continue to do that.

01:31We're going to focus on this one.

01:32And here's the division of our region,

01:34you have to focus on this one.

01:36We had a great job on the phone.

01:37And you can look at the students who are wearing one.

01:38We're going to focus on this one.

01:39We're going to focus on this one.

01:40And now we have to focus on today's agenda.

01:42We can focus on that one.
