Le Bris trusts Sunderland players to respond well

00:00Ahead of Sunderland's final game of the Championship season before the playoffs, head coach Regis

00:06Lebris has maintained his trust in his players despite recent poor form.

00:11Yes, every win is important but at the same time I think it's another story. For us the

00:21game today I think will be really important for that point. We have to be competitive

00:27in the duels, we have to bring the strong energy, we have to be combative, we have to

00:32be strong in duels and it wasn't the case today. So it was impossible to play our football

00:39and it's a shame because we want to win, we want to be proud of our team, of our club

00:46and it wasn't the case today. For me I trust this team, I trust this squad, I trust our

00:50players because they showed so many times that they were able to play a really good

00:55football very competitive and we don't have to forget that we secured this fourth place

01:02early in the season so it's really important to repeat it. So now we are not consistent,

01:07we are making mistakes, we are not happy but we know where we come from.

01:12And Middlesbrough head coach Michael Carrick has said that anything can still happen on the

01:17final day of the season as Borough go to Coventry hoping for a win that would see them into the

01:22playoff places.

01:27Yeah, it's irrelevant really, I think the game is the game, I think we came for the

01:31points today and we didn't get them. So we are still in the fight in some way, you know,

01:35if we can manage to win next week we know what last day is, it can bring anything. So, yeah,

01:42it is, it was a day to try and win and get the three points and today, as I said, repeating

01:47it really but we couldn't find a moment of that spark when we needed it. The boys give

01:51everything, you know, and they are out on the feet at the end, we just, we just didn't,

01:55we just got to be honest, we didn't, we didn't find that moment and we didn't have that extra

01:58little bit when we needed it and that's the difference. It's, it's the last day, anything

02:02can happen, you know, and we got to try and take care of ourselves and try and go in there

02:06and, or certainly go there and try and win the game, that's, that's it. Whatever is going

02:10to happen after that, unfortunately for us it's out of our hands but it doesn't mean things

02:13can't go away.
