Violin maestro L Subramaniam expresses gratitude over his Padma Vibhushan honour

New Delhi, April 29 2025 (ANI): Renowned violinist Lakshminarayana Subramaniam expressed his gratitude to the government of India for recognising his efforts and honouring him with Padma Vibhushan. On Monday, President Droupadi Murmu presented the Padma award to Subramaniam at a prestigious ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday evening. His wife and veteran singer Kavita Krishnamurthy too attended the ceremony.  After the ceremony, the renowned musician spoke with ANI and shared his thoughts on being felicitated with the second-highest civilian award of the Republic of India. "...I am extremely happy. More than anything, I think this is an award for all the violinists because this is the first time a violinist is getting Padma Vibhushan...Music has given me everything," he said.

00:00Everybody will be extremely honoured and privileged to get a national award from the Commonwealth of India.

00:07I am also extremely happy.

00:11More than anything, I take this as an award for all the Valinists to be,

00:17as I was told, the first sign of Valinists is getting Pataman devotion,

00:23and also for all the Valinists in the past, now and future,

00:27and also especially my father who is responsible for making the real Valinist globally known as a sovereign child.

00:35I take it as this award I am receiving on his behalf.

00:40Sir, you have done a lot of work in the past, and you have received a lot of rewards.

00:48Now when you look back, the journey that you have, how do you see your whole journey so far?

00:56For me, I see myself as zero without music.

01:01Music has given me everything, and there is the inner peace.

01:06The entire journey with music has taken me almost all of them.

01:12I have met beautiful saintly people, great musicians.

01:16I have had the opportunity to collaborate with, from Lord Equity Menuhin,

01:20to Stephen Rappellee, to George Dewey, to the Hancock on one side,

01:25and the other orchestras, right?

01:27In the after the morning, Maestro Meta, Azumi Meta, along with London Symphony,

01:32other conductors, other maestros.

01:34I have had the great pleasure of working with different genres of music,

01:38including selective film music.

01:40And finally, if you look back over the days, you can represent the only one,

01:42but you're good for the passing of one, there is a wonderful place that it has been

01:44moving all out of the day.

01:46Also I never would come back to the south colony.

01:47I know you've got the numbers that I was able to bring you through to Wild informative music,
