00:00Tell us what the process was like this morning.
00:03Well, the process was smooth for me and my family.
00:07I voted with my family. We have voted at this station for many years.
00:11And the process was smooth.
00:14I did observe that compared to the number of voters who voted at the same time in the last election,
00:21the turnout seems to be higher.
00:23My consecutive number was higher and I always vote around the same time.
00:28I started the day in St. Augustine constituency from 5 a.m.
00:33And in St. Augustine, even before the polls were opened, there were lines.
00:39So it seems that there is a high voter turnout and I think that is a positive thing.
00:44In St. Augustine, there were a couple hiccups which our UNC legal team had to attend to
00:53and those were resolved very early because of the vigilance of the party.
00:57and the training of our polling agents.
01:00Our leader has really fine-tuned the polling agents' training because of the slip-ups of the EBC in the past
01:08and the faults that were identified.
01:10So thankfully, because of their training and their quick action, we were able to attend to those.
01:16There were instances of ballots not being initialed and so on.
01:19And because people were aware of it in the public domain, they were able to demand that the signature be placed.
01:27And I think it's important for the public to be vigilant and ensure that their right to vote is secure.
01:34And you don't have a situation as we had in the past that ended up in the court.
01:39In the Scarapo area, I would have voted...
01:45I can tell you who I vote for.
01:47In the Scarapo area, our candidate is Dominic Smith.
01:50So my entire family would have voted in support of him.
01:54Yeah?
01:55Um, is it your son's case?
01:57Yes.
01:58Can you talk to us a little bit?
01:59Sure.
02:00Can you press us?
02:01So switch, you come here because my camera kind of sets up for you.
02:06Yeah, who's you first?
02:08Right.
02:09So you're just as tall as your mom.
02:10How was the process for you?
02:11Was it what you expected?
02:12Honestly, um, I thought it was smoother.
02:13It went smoother than I thought it would go.
02:14Um, it was very helpful when I asked them for instructions on how to vote.
02:31Um, sorry.
02:32And what about other young people?
02:34So far we've been out and about and we rarely catch.
02:37Like, it's very rare to catch a young person voting.
02:40What, what, what, I mean, aside from your mom, what would have encouraged you to come out here and vote?
02:46Um, well, first of all, it's a right to vote.
02:50Um, you should exercise that right because after you vote and the polls close, you can't complain.
02:57So.
02:58I know you're hoping you'll be catching up with your mom's name instead.
03:03We'll see what the future holds.
03:05We'll see what the future holds, sir.
03:07Alright.
03:08Any of your friends voted?
03:09Uh, yeah.
03:10Yeah.
03:11A couple of them voted.
03:12Um, some in the community centre.
03:15Right.
