00:00India is clearly a massive centre of growth globally.
00:04India is going to have an ever greater level of influence on the economy globally
00:08over the decades ahead.
00:10In my home state in South Australia we have great affection for the Indian community
00:14and we see an opportunity for greater collaboration,
00:17more Indian students coming to South Australia,
00:19collaboration around steel production with India being the world's largest steel producer.
00:24We will see opportunity for direct flights to and from South Australia
00:28sharing of technology around renewable energy.
00:30These are big picture opportunities that require greater collaboration.
00:35I have been very grateful to be here during this visit.
00:37Okay, also I would like to why you are interested in the Indian investment
00:43and what you will say about the Modi governance after the Modi governance,
00:47how investment policies are changed?
00:49Look, the Modi government clearly is a pro-investment government
00:52that is very committed to economic growth and partnerships can help achieve that.
00:57partnerships across jurisdictions with friendly like-minded countries such as Australia I think
01:02can not just assist in that growth but really fulfil its potential in a way that delivers for people
01:08in a way that is mutually beneficial.
01:10I think what the Modi government appreciates is the power of trade and investment
01:15to lift people up and provide more and improve living standards
01:19in a way that is mutually beneficial across jurisdictions
01:22and that is what we are exploring on this visit.
01:24Okay, also one more thing I want to say.
01:26You are contributing for South Australia.
01:28Yes.
01:29And this is the South Mumbai where we are standing.
01:31So what do you will say about our Mumbai?
01:33Oh look, this is the second time I have been to Mumbai.
01:36Okay.
01:37The first time I came to Mumbai was in 2004 to watch the cricket here
01:40and India won by 13 runs in a very close test match.
01:44Har Bhashan Singh took 10 wickets.
01:46It was incredible.
01:47And the moment I came to Mumbai that first visit I knew that this was a place that had vibrancy
01:52and passion and dynamism and to see how much the place has grown over the last 20 years
01:59is a sight to behold that is inspiring for everybody.
02:02Okay.
02:03One more thing I want to ask.
02:04Whenever we talk about Australia it's always about the cricket.
02:08Yes.
02:09We love the Mr Rickie Ponding and everything.
02:12And today you are here and you are going to play cricket.
02:16Yes, I'll play a little bit of cricket.
02:17I'm a bit nervous actually.
02:18I'm a bit nervous about getting out on the hallowed turf and getting a grab.
02:22But I love my cricket.
02:23But I'm better at watching it than I am playing it.
02:25So we'll see how we go.
