00:00The Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court on Friday allowed an application by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yaseen
00:05for the temporary release of his international passport
00:08to enable him to visit his sick sister-in-law in Australia.
00:13Judge Azura Alwi granted the former Prime Minister's application
00:16and that the passport must be returned to the court on May 20.
00:21The court had granted Muhyiddin's application for temporary release of his passport several times,
00:27including to attend his grandchild's graduation ceremony and consultation
00:32regarding his pancreatic cancer in London, United Kingdom,
00:37a medical check-up in Singapore and the opening of a friend's restaurant in Thailand.
00:43Muhyiddin, in his capacity as then Prime Minister and Bersatu President,
00:48is accused of abusing his position to solicit RM232.5 million
00:53in bribes related to the Jana Wibawa project from Bukhari Equity Sandirian Berhad,
00:59Nepturist Sandirian Berhad, and MAM4 Sandirian Berhad,
01:03as well as Datuk Azman Yusuf for the benefit of his political party.
01:08These offences were allegedly committed at the Prime Minister's office
01:11in the Perdana Putra Building, Federal Government Administrative Centre,
01:16Putrajaya, between March 2020 and August 2021.
01:21He also faced with two counts of receiving proceeds from unlawful activities
01:26amounting to RM195 million from Bukhari Equity.
