Dave & Chuck the Freak talk about a driver in Pittsburgh who was supposed to be transferring a dead person from a retirement home to a funeral home, but they picked up the wrong person, who was still alive.

00:26oh i'm in pittsburgh kill me here's the story from cbs news it's really a wild story many wondering

00:37who is to blame staff at the rehabilitation center or the funeral home the state health

00:42department tells me what happened here is concerning it's a shock we've learned that

00:48the wrong person was picked up as shady side skilled nursing and rehabilitation center

00:52while en route to the funeral home the wrong person hey you're just taking a nap

01:08yeah get me out of here back of the car yeah yeah i'm dead the driver realized the person was alive

01:15you would hate that to be your relative and you're going to have questions as the family you're going

01:21to have questions about your loved one and their safety and well-being with a situation like this

01:25how do you mess up something like that the question on everyone's minds and the one the spokesperson for

01:30the center won't answer along with so many others instead in a statement they said in part once we

01:36became aware we contacted the department of health and the family emergency contact and also took

01:41necessary steps internally to address i sat down with kirk fry vogel part owner of this funeral home not

01:48involved in this case for insight on the role everyone plays whether it is at a home or whether it is in a

01:56facility funeral directors count on the medical professionals to have pronounced the person deceased prior

02:04to us being dispatched we are not trained in medical procedures of checking to see if someone is deceased or

02:13are alive i reached out to the state i'm told it doesn't regulate the transport process people can't

02:19help but think how different this situation could have turned out is what if she would have gotten to

02:23the funeral home and they would have started the process the state health department tells me it cannot

02:27comment specifically on whether the center is under investigation following this incident what's

02:33crazy about this normally these people are literally on the verge of death yeah right and so they just

02:38misinterpret i'm almost dying right this is just me in a home i'm just not looking great i'm obviously

02:44not looking great is real super tired oh i look bad though they're like oh yeah he's dead yeah like i was

02:51doing crafts scooped you right up honestly i would be so on edge as a body driver

03:02well i can't imagine being a body driver i think honestly when you're a body driver it's pretty much

03:09the only thing that usually happens is every once in a while the body flies out of the car

03:14we've seen that a couple times not they wake up and start talking here like imagine you did come to

03:20where are we yeah hey i'll field trip right off the road oh my god

03:27but at the same time i would assume i'm in a facility i work in the facility we know the room

03:34where the person just died right like it can't happen that often like i mean i understand like

03:41maybe in some giant facilities someone dies every day i don't know but you at least a regular but you're

03:48at least you're like okay yeah like that is she passed away in that room didn't we learn that like on

03:55here that like dead bodies will make a noise like air being released out of it they'll be like ah

04:01it's not good it's already scary as it is never mind them actually being alive well

04:06and then uh if you're just used to that and i'm just back there like whoa

04:10oh you're right oh this guy makes some weird noises like hell did he say hell

04:19do they transport me do they put me in a coffin or is this before all that this is probably before

04:26all that i'm just like in a van or something yeah yeah yeah yeah someone said i did it after hours on

04:31call as a part-time job absolutely one of the best part-time jobs i ever had was a funeral home body

04:40removal you just you don't have to talk no one's bothering you hope i guess maybe it's good for some

04:46people that's okay maybe the money's good not for me
