00:17garden which is right alongside the las vegas community healing garden a 10 foot tall sculpture
00:22called flight of healing created by two survivors is they're really beautiful with monarch butterflies

00:35it's uh man we all have stories from that day even if you weren't there you knew people who were there

00:46yeah everyone was there i started working there uh three months after it happened so it was still so
00:51so new and i watched the 11 minutes on prime last night three episodes or four and just seeing the
01:00coyote tent blown over and and the flags and and my people you know those are my listeners for many
01:06many years and um we've cried with them we've gone to concerts with them and um it's an emotional time
01:13but like we always say the following days just proved how how strong and resilient we really are
01:20as a community and um we've done some really great things um after that so i was always very very proud
01:28of us and how we how we dealt with that and i think that we were a um something to some a group of
01:35people a city a state to look up to in in really difficult times of how we handled things no doubt and
01:42i think that you know i i often come off as the pessimist on this show but like i try to find
01:47whatever good is found anywhere the day the two october was the greatest day in the history of this
01:55city seeing how people rallied and the lines at united blood services and to see almost immediately
02:01they start building this community healing garden within like four days five days they had it completed
02:08yeah on but like i look at that garden like like they didn't even think they just went and did it
02:15and it was just incredible i was on the radio obviously across the street and people were just
02:19trying to figure out where to donate things and you had non-profits saying we don't need anything
02:25we're done we and there was one firehouse that was still accepting places or still accepting stuff and
02:30i was drove past it to go home that night and legit it looked like it was overflowing it looked like the
02:37back of a costco when they're doing like stock it was unbelievable how the city showed up and absolutely

02:47remembrances for that that was a moment where this city became from a tourist city wow everyone lives
02:52in a hotel to wow that is a community and um yeah unreal five years
