00:13got my pin-ups you know hey i don't know who she is but hey i ain't not get it are you wearing an
00:20ellen shirt right now yeah dude i haven't worn real clothes in a long time man ellen's stuff's
00:24actually legit do you have the underwear too yeah i'm not on right now i mean i don't know i was
00:30gonna have to see it obviously yeah dude i moved back to your home state homie i know dude i'm ready
00:37to get back down there man this stuff has uh i've officially hit the uh about to go crazy part of
00:43i'm with you man i mean we we were off good friday and i was like uh i'm coming in because i don't
00:48want to sit at my house because the fam the fam's in texas so i was like i might as well just cruise
00:53in so right yeah so we've been man we've been um we've been quarantined down in um alabama with her
00:59uh mama that's where you guys are at right now you're not in nashville right i'm actually back
01:03in nashville so i've been cutting the record and we've been recording the record which has been cool
01:07been uh been interesting i've been challenging but fun because i'm we're all cutting it from our home
01:13studios and so uh and then i'm zooming in with my producer um as i do both that's fine you know so it's
01:20different but man it's actually coming together good and it's been uh it's been cool man it's
01:24been a been a fun way of doing it and uh excited for the new music so that that started that that
01:29came out at a good time to where i was going right but now i can you know focus on that during the days
01:33right dude well the other thing is too we should have bought stock and zoom you have no that and
01:38chlorox man and charming and charming only how to know man i'd have been buying charming like crazy
01:47oh man someone's getting rich right now someone's getting yeah and i don't understand how they're
01:52doing the the limit on two per person and it's still out every day uh yeah and there's no way
01:59they're using all of it because that's that's not normal habits someone someone's hustling some
02:04some charman on the side that's what's happening just chuck and charming out there black market
02:12dollar square i love it man oh you went black on me there you go you're back hey so new record uh
02:21obviously dude you're in the top 10 right now with your song top 20 carly's top 10. so technically
02:26i'm kind of top 10 i guess oh sorry that's talking there congratulations on the top 10 with lee bryce
02:32finally you met a guy with talent anyway uh well you came here and say she'd be like if i would
02:37have just had michael on it we'd already be number one for like oh i love it hey dude her world or
02:45mine though is a jam it's going to be in the top 10. it's really doing well people are loving the song
02:48and uh i mean it's it's i mean you you just it's hard to compare you to other artists because i really
02:55do and it's a good thing you kind of uh in your own you're in your own lane on a lot of stuff and
03:00you know you talk about your grandpa influencing you so much and uh did he have a very unique taste
03:05of music too he did man it was uh but it was broad man like now that i look back i guess i really didn't
03:11notice it at the time because we were always playing traditional country or you know bluegrass and
03:16that was like his first love was that but like now looking back on the we would watch austin city limits
03:22and you know with stevie ray bond he loved stevie ray bond huge stevie ray bond been huge
03:28uh love the blues you know what i mean like he had this like different kind of thing that he that he
03:33likes but uh but yeah like i think i think it really does shine and kind of like how i made my music as
03:40well because he just loved good songs and if the song hit him or something you know what i mean like
03:44there really wasn't this uh one way of of listening or this one genre he was pretty
03:50pretty open about it well you know what's cool too is like you know i've known you since we launched
03:55or since you launched uh kissy in the morning we've known each other for a long time and
03:59and i i think i've told you this in person before like i feel like even
04:03not i wouldn't say your voice but i feel like your voice is kind of developed on different records too
04:07not that it never was not strong but i mean have you found that to be true like man i'm hitting notes
04:12that i would normally hit or i'm finding a different range yeah man yeah and i i think
04:16some of that has to do with just um honestly the the confidence that the fans give you uh you know
04:22you start um having success with at radio you start selling tickets people so you know you start you
04:29start really believing in yourself more the more they believe in you you know and they're they're um
04:34you know uh attaching themselves to your music and your shows and uh i think that's that that's a big
04:40thing at least for me uh and also um i think as you make records you you start out playing the game
04:48you know and then as you grow you start kind of developing who you are uh so you got some equity
04:54in the business you got some equity in it yeah you can kind of stand up and be a little bit more vocal
04:58about the way you see things going and i think that now um just being able to have the confidence
05:04from the fans do the amount of shows we've been doing the last five years uh and then just really
05:09now coming into like my sound into this new record um i think i think all of that blending is helping
05:14me just become a better singer all around i think i think great and i think it shows big time so i
05:19know when you guys are probably off the road carly and yourself and you guys are probably trying to be
05:23like hey i don't want to talk about music but those times when you're at the dinner table and you are
05:26talking about music what are some of the things you guys bounce off each other um you know it's been
05:32funny because she started making a record last year that came out this year um and now i'm making my
05:37record and so now it's a lot of talk of like i'm playing her songs i've written for demos or like
05:43getting her uh um take on on like mixes or like man you know i'm really thinking i want to go this
05:49way with this record and just kind of bouncing the idea of a uh of having her an artist who's a female
05:55you know what i mean that that thinks way different and listens to things different and uh and somebody
06:01that i respect as an artist i think she's you know i would say it if we work together you know i think
06:06that she has a great work ethic she really knows you know who she is and and uh that's stuff that
06:12that anybody can learn from even you know no matter where you're at in your career so yeah
06:16she's a stud for sure uh so married life what are some of the new chores you have inherited now
06:21that you are a married man um i i'm normally not big on like putting my clothes in a hamper
06:27you know they're just kind of you can tell where i changed i'll just tell you that like spots where i
06:31just kind of fell down and i grabbed i haven't been to your new spot yet so i can only imagine
06:35yeah so uh so make you know having that uh you know i was also the guy that i would put the dishes
06:41in the dishwasher but for some reason my brain just didn't connect on putting the soap and hitting start
06:46you know yeah yeah that's okay yeah she's like why would you why would you put them in and not start
06:53them yeah i was like i don't know like but now look at now now we're doing this together you see and
06:58then right right team so um you guys did you guys play the opry together did we play the opry together
07:04yeah or was it yeah yeah we we have a few times yeah yeah okay so that's that's got to be a bucket
07:09list for both of you just individually and then together man i mean what was that like yeah our
07:15first time ever seeing together i actually was on the opry which was a pretty nerve-wracking you might
07:19as well just propose right there bro yeah i mean that's right that's destiny i really dove dove deep
07:26uh and it was like all right this is where we're going to start it okay um you know it's uh the
07:31opry is a special place to me a special place to her and to be able to share that together is really
07:35cool and um you know for both of us growing up with traditional country music in our lives and playing
07:40bands uh you know with our family members that that were you know traditional country rooted and
07:46um the opry you know um having having the opry members and the opry legends kind of bring us in and
07:53and uh and really get to know a lot of those heroes of ours that that we grew up listening to so now
07:58now to be able to uh to have those pictures of us hanging out in the back and it's genie seeley with
08:02us or you know marty raven from shannon doe or mark wills or you know uh um john conley oh there's
08:09all these you know uh loretta lynn how long ago was back there it's a it's a really cool thing man it's
08:14something that uh that's some of the people that yourself not to take for granted yeah so some of the
08:19people your grandpa told you about like oh there they are oh totally dude yeah like still to this
08:24day man i'll be like man if he was here right now dude you have no idea i could you know because i've
08:28i've met or came and came in contact with you know a lot of if they're living you know a lot of who we
08:34grew up listening to charlie pride was one of them that i remember seeing his name on the on the opry
08:40uh list and i was like oh that's charlie pride so i like i would make sure i didn't have anything
08:44during his set like stood side stage and i feel like uh you know growing up idolizing the opry and
08:50those men and women that paved the way uh i feel like you know i'm just still a fan when i go there
08:55so i'm just a fan that that gets to actually somehow be a part of the show which is crazy
08:59you know when you go to the opry is there a thing where like you can sign a wall saying that you
09:04perform there or do you get like a plaque saying i performed at the opry because i mean obviously that's
09:08a huge bucket list for any artist i mean do you get is there somewhere you get to sign your wall
09:12back i mean you know how they do that some venues like uh you know so and so played here do they do
09:16that there is it just too sacred they have um they you know they celebrate your moments uh that play
09:23there and then when you become a member they put your name is on the uh on the board uh when you walk
09:27in there with all the other opera members um uh which that's the goal uh to get there one day but
09:33they celebrate the moment you know your first your first your opry debut um a lot of people might not
09:39know this but you're in the same dressing room so from taylor swift to whomever uh uh you know
09:47christian garth everybody's been in that room on day one so we all started in that room and it has
09:53all these really cool quotes from opry legends and you know different people that have uh that that have
09:59um became opry members and that's a really really cool place man because you just sit there and you
10:04just know that everybody everybody that's stepped in that circle started in this room and a pretty
10:09cool spot and then when you hit yeah i played it uh almost 60 times now and so on my 50th uh on your
10:16on anybody's 50th they do a cool thing so um they they're doing now a parking sign they didn't they
10:22didn't do that whenever i did my day i missed out on that yeah so it's like reserved for opry debut you
10:29know uh yeah so but that started after my debut so i didn't get that so the ones now they do get a
10:35sign i guess we'll get a sharpie dude we'll put you on there i'll make my own you know what i mean
10:41yeah whatever just bring your own put it on your pack i'll just put it on the thing yeah i love that
10:45dude so take me inside the studio i mean obviously you're working at home right now but when it comes
10:50to laying things down and rearranging obviously from what it starts to to what it ends up where we hear it
10:55on the radio i mean for fans that are watching right now what's that process look like are we
11:01go like so lyrics get written melody gets laid down and then where after that after you get your lyrics
11:07and your idea where do you start with like okay how do we juice this up you know i've got your ground
11:13work and then you kind of you know i know you guys work these things yeah what's your thought process
11:19i think you know for me at least on the writing side you know i'll start with an idea a lot of times
11:24where i'll hear something or someone will say something and i'll write it down sometimes it's
11:28just an idea it might not even be a title yet you know or anything i might just come into the writer's
11:33room and go hey guys i don't really know what this is but you know i feel this and and then the the
11:38it kind of the melody kind of finds itself for me you know as you're kind of figuring out what
11:42you what is the what's the body of this song is it a ballad is it a tempo you know what what angle
11:47do you want to go oh man that tempo i mean let's do it more like this or you know then you start
11:52listening to other artists with tempos and just kind of getting inspired as you go uh one of the
11:56cool crazy parts about making this record right now is uh is you know we're all doing it from home
12:01studio so sure ross my producer is sending uh what we call a scratch vocal which is just you know
12:08singing it so that so the band can have a reference a vocal so it's not what you hear once it's final
12:14so they send that and they click which is your meter and then the drummer lays his part down
12:21we tweet that bass player it lays his part down tweet that you can we're kind of building as we go
12:25which is which is cool you know there's nothing that there's nothing that uh comparison yeah or
12:31or yeah prepared or yeah another word uh that is is like word of the day compares compares i'll
12:38say it prepares compares them uh i don't know what day it is um used to Florida everybody i got that
12:45high school diploma go on let's go um we uh there's nothing that compares to to that live and you know
12:51watching the musicians do their thing and watching this thing come to life but it has been cool to like
12:56tweak as we go and really you know go down different routes per per instrument so it's been cool man it's uh
13:03you know been been something that's been new to me yeah yeah well i mean what are you gonna do you
13:08gotta adapt to these situations right now right uh are you running out of any supplies right now during
13:13quarantine um i just no i think i got everything uh we don't have any coros wipes but i don't think
13:20i think that's just the rest of the world uh but yeah yeah i don't know i don't think i'm running low
13:24yet all right good yeah good well we're getting some requests here people want to hear some songs you
13:29down to play a little bit let's do it man what's all right well let's i've seen a couple people that
13:33want you to take it back to the beginning okay are you is it too early for kiss you in the morning
13:37i mean it is morning uh it is technically morning let me see how are you feeling about that
13:45whatever they want let's do it we'll try there you go come on kiss you in the morning michael ray live on ig
13:50jeans are fading in all the right places got me hanging on top to your curse i literally
14:11i want to kiss you in the parking lot under the moonlight kiss you running red light baby set the
14:26mood right just like everything you're doing to me right now making me crazy i want to kiss you on the

15:30i want to kiss you on the dance floor kiss you like a let's go come on baby let me hear you say
15:36i want to kiss you on the dance floor kiss you in the morning
15:55i want to kiss you in the parking lot under the moonlight kiss you running red light baby set the
16:02mood right just like everything you're doing to me right now making me crazy i want to kiss you on
16:10the dance floor kiss you like a let's go come on baby let me hear you say oh i want to kiss you with
16:17the neon lights in your eyes blowing then i want to kiss you in the morning
16:24yeah i want to kiss you in the morning morning
16:37yes sir my boy baby to do in the morning than it is uh in the afternoon
16:44well you know fun fact about that music video for that song is your grandmother's in it right
16:49she is yeah man front row partying on the streets of eustace right getting down dude yeah we decided
16:56to do that video um well we knew we had to do a video i was like i wanted to find a way to get
17:00back to my hometown you know that's been with me since day one and been letting me you know learning
17:05bars and and learn on their weekends and stuff like that and always supported me so i was like how
17:09do we do this and uh and we like dude what if we just threw a street party in my hometown and just
17:14had everybody come and have be the extras and what's funny is edgar the the guy that directed
17:20that that it was his first uh country video and so and he's done a lot of hip-hop videos and and
17:26and pop videos but this was his first country one so he was like hey man you know uh how many extras
17:32do you think we might need and i'm like we're not going to need any extras man yeah and he was like
17:35he's like it got closer i was like dude trust me like we're going to be fine and so i i put the post
17:40out i think like two days beforehand and uh and we we filmed it and when he got there he was like
17:46oh you you weren't kidding yeah we don't need it yeah that all man i was like i told you dude and
17:50it was fun man we just had a big big time my grandma's in it all my family's in it my grandpa's
17:55name is uh is on the flag that we're flying behind the airboat so just big family family affair people are
18:02commenting too that they love the uh country carpool that you and i did in orlando oh yeah that was wild
18:09that was a wild one so fun your dad called us in the middle of it hey i'm filming something with jr
18:16i'm surprised my phone has been ringing right now it's like he has a radar like i could be on a bus
18:21for 18 hours not doing anything and i won't hear from him but the second i step into an interview or
18:26meet and greet my phone buzzes i'm like i guarantee it's my dad sure enough so i just started to answer
18:32them tell jerry what up for me for sure man i love that guy um someone i also asked uh what i what
18:39topics are you covering on this new album is there anything is there a theme to it or are you just kind
18:44of whatever's hit you in the past year because you got a big transition in your life yeah you know one
18:50thing i think that happens when you're an artist and you're evolving with your records you know this
18:54is the album number three and if you go back and and uh listen to a lot of artists there uh you know
19:00album three and four is really where i think that you start seeing who they are a lot of times you
19:04know very very seldom does somebody knock it out of the park you know first at bat but for a lot of
19:09people you know you you learn as you go and and i think the first record you play the game a little
19:13bit and and now with this record um i'm getting into uh music that that i feel is is me i want people
19:21to be able to crank this up on back roads and crank it up on their boat you know and be able to have
19:26an album of of of lifestyle stuff which also you know we're still gonna still gonna have you know
19:32a baller or two in there we're still gonna have you know real real songs on there but i just really
19:37want this record to be a way for people to hear and go okay that's i get i know who that is now yeah
19:44um well let's i i know i got you like for five more minutes you want to do the single let's do it man
19:48yeah i mean from france hi from france yeah that's my mom don't worry about it oh is she
19:55france florida i think she's french yeah the french quarter yeah she's in new orleans oh yeah okay
20:03oh there's a paris tennessee
20:08all right
20:16one of us still has our picture taped up on the dash one of us took that one from mexico
20:30threw it in the trash one of us don't even notice the radio plays that song one of us breaks down and has to
20:43pull over whenever it comes on there ain't no in between when it comes to her and me
20:57one of us moved on one of us got stuff one of us is drinking just for fun one of us is drinking to get
21:10drunk one of us one of us sleeps good one of us hates to face the night
21:20just depends if you're talking about her world
21:24there's a number on the phone one of us
21:37one of us erased there's a late night can we track and call one of us wants to make one of us can't even think
21:52it's about being in the back being in another's arms and there's a car in the drive that stayed all night
22:00well one of us used to part one of us moved on one of us got stuff one of us is drinking just for fun one of us is drinking
22:16one of us is drinking together one of us sleeps good one of us hates to face the night
22:27just depends if you're talking about her world
22:30oh
22:40for a while we had for every
22:44Whatever it all is, that's why one of us can't understand how one of us moved on, one of
23:00us gasped, one of us is drinking just for fun, one of us is drinking to give drunk, one
23:11of us sleeps good, one of us hates to face the night, just depends if you're talking about
23:23her world of mine, yeah that's the difference between her world of mine.
23:41I feel like you were singing to me, it's great, I mean you're the only one I saw, you know
23:56what I mean, so I don't know, I don't know, hey I know that you definitely want to take
24:00a second to thank first responders and just talk to your fellow Floridians, so I mean just
24:05what you got to say during all these times man.
24:06Yeah, coming from a family of first responders, seeing the sacrifice that they gave, you know,
24:13so many nights for people that they don't even know, just for the better of the community,
24:18I think taught me a lot about their life and their sacrifices.
24:24Now with what we're going through right now, I couldn't imagine what they're going through.
24:30You know, being on the front lines, doing everything they can, sleepless nights, the anxiety, the
24:36fear, the fear probably, you know, of catching themselves and bringing it back home to their
24:41families.
24:42You know, this whole quarantine and staying home thing, it's not easy to do, but it's us
24:48doing our part.
24:49The more that we do our part and the more that we're straight on it, the faster our men and women
24:54and our first responders will be able to get a better grip on this and be able to start flattening
25:00the current, as they're saying.
25:01And I think one good thing is I think that finally first responders are getting the respect that they
25:07have been deserved for a long time.
25:09I think you take away the singers, the actors, the whatever you put on platforms and you realize that the
25:14world don't go around without these men and women, period, and I think that is one bright side of the
25:19whole thing, honestly, is finding, I think, the world's seeing the essential worker as the most
25:28important job on the earth, I believe, and teachers included, you know what I mean?
25:35Like everybody, they're all sacrificing so much right now.
25:38Yeah, for sure, dude.
25:40And the other thing is to go on with what you were saying is the first responders, you know,
25:44we think of firemen, we think of policemen, and then obviously our military as well,
25:47or not first responders, but, you know, military we respect so much.
25:50But now that we're getting to see, we forget about the doctors, we forget about the nurses,
25:54you know what I'm saying?
25:56And now we're really getting to see them.
25:57Yeah, man.
25:58Yeah.
25:58And I think that it's a, you know, I think it's a time that we all should thank our first responders.
26:07And hopefully this is something that inspires people to continue to do this.
