Bill Maher is scoffing at the far left for slamming him over his visit to the White House ... to paraphrase Mark Anthony, he feels he should not be buried, he should be praised!

00:07principles. It seems like nobody noticed that. I didn't go MAGA. I had the opportunity to talk

00:15to Donald Trump and say the things to him that maybe he never hears, literally to speak truth

00:22to power. I shouldn't take that opportunity. Again, don't do that. Okay. And then there was

00:28the part about, you know, should I lie about how I found him? Because apparently that didn't please

00:35people. They wanted to hear that he was the same monster that they see in public. And he wasn't.

00:40I'm proud that I was able to go into the White House and say to the president of the United States,

00:45look him in the eye and say, you're scaring people. You know, it doesn't bother you that you're scaring

00:52so many of your own citizens. I'm proud that I confronted him when we talked about the orangutan

00:57thing. And I didn't apologize. I said, yeah, because you were making, I did that because you

01:01were making fun and mocking Obama's birth origins. And I thought that was low. So I should be a hero

01:09for going there and doing those things and saying those things to the president. I'm not the villain

01:14here. I mean, there's two ways you can do the Oval Office the way I did it, honestly, or like

01:21Gretchen Wichmar and hold up a bunch of biners in front of your face. Do I have great hopes that

01:27saying anything to him is going to change anything? No, but you have to try. What, again,

01:35as opposed to what? Not engaging? Just, I mean, for the Democrats, you lost everything. You have no

01:42power. You have nothing. And we're slowly becoming just much more of a monarchy. But you don't want to

01:49talk to the king at all? You don't want to talk to him? That's going to fix anything?
