A couple in Paradise, CA has decided to take in a 93-year-old man who escaped from the wildfires and the show imagines what it would be if they were to adopt Old Man Chuck.

00:00uh so the story uh next is about a california couple adopting a 93 year old guy this is

00:11happening in uh the town of paradise in northern california which of course has been ravaged by

00:16wildfires and this guy is a 93 year old veteran who they decided they just had to take in

00:23here's the story uh from inside edition are my saviors a 93 year old veteran who escaped a

00:33wildfire in california has found a home away from home with a loving couple who say they adopted him

00:42i tried to get him to come home with me the first night and he said no my lady days are long gone

00:49i don't believe that i don't believe that after hanging out with him for a few days i don't

00:55believe those days are over tracy grant says it took some convincing to get lee brungy to leave

01:01the evacuation center where he was staying lee drove himself out of harm's way as flames were

01:07closing in on his neighborhood in the town of paradise my instant instinct was he's not staying

01:14here another night by himself and i'm not taking him to a shelter and i'm not letting him go

01:19as some other stranger because you know there are people out there that will take advantage

01:24tracy and her boyfriend josh fox are now hosting lee they don't know yet if his home survived the fire

01:31but if he didn't they say he's welcome to stay with them forever as long as he'll put up with us

01:38yeah we told him he can stay here the world war ii veteran is enjoying his new accommodations

01:43as well as his new roommates he's tougher than all of us and he says he's extremely grateful for all

01:50they've done for him i don't know how i'll ever thank them but i'm gonna try for inside

01:56i imagine old man chuck right old man chuck's just living his old man chuck life and probably be okay

02:03if everything just wrapped up oh if a wildfire was coming down on me and i was old man chuck at 93 i'd

02:09be like surrounded by gasoline but then a nice couple stops in
