New Starbucks dress code requires black tops and neutral pants

Starbucks is refreshing its brand with a new dress code for employees.

00:00Starbucks employees are getting a new dress code.

00:02Starting in May, the coffee chain will now require baristas to wear

00:06any solid black short and long-sleeve crew neck,

00:09collared or button-up shirts, and any shade of khaki black or blue denim bottoms.

00:14The company is making a new line of branded t-shirts

00:16and will give employees two shirts for free.

00:19Starbucks said the change will help emphasize the chain's iconic green apron,

00:23a fixture of the company's brand since 1987.

00:26The move is part of CEO Brian Nichols' slew of new changes at the coffee giant,

00:31along with handwritten notes on coffee cups, comfier chairs,

00:33and cutting back on custom menu items.
