Vomiting in intestinal obstruction

Another important symptom of intestinal obstruction is vomiting. The higher (closer to the stomach) the obstacle is located, the sooner and more often vomiting occurs. With obstruction of the lower sections, for example with rectal cancer, vomiting may not occur. At first, the vomit contains food debris, then vomiting appears mixed with bile.
