00:01There is no need to emulate Turkey in finding passengers who stand before the seatbelt indicator light is turned off on an airplane.

00:08The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia said this is because most passengers entering Malaysia generally obey existing seatbelt regulations.

00:16The aviation regulator also said it had not received complaints or reports of the issue so far.

00:22However, the National Union of Flight Attendants Malaysia expressed support for the introduction of such a ruling,

00:28saying some passengers tend to ignore the seatbelt indicator even during mid-flight.

00:33Nonetheless, Newfam President Ismail Nasaruddin said the final decision on the matter rests with CAAM.

00:40Last week, Turkey's Aviation Authority announced plans to find passengers who stand as soon as a plane lands

00:46without waiting for the seatbelt sign to be turned off, following a serious increase in complaints.
