Maitland weaner market soars as Trump's tariffs fail to shake buyer confidence

00:00We've just conducted our annual wiener sale here at Mather, a very, very strong market

00:11to buy us from sort of Tamworth's Gown up into Queensland and we've seen the market

00:20a lot dearer than we've seen, probably sort of 50 cents above, 60 cents above what it

00:27was earlier in the week and probably some of the cattle are making sort of nearly $300,

00:34$250, $300 more than they made at the same sale last year and we had an exceptional quality

00:41yarding of cattle here today and it's a credit to the vendors for being able to get them

00:46out.

00:47In a few of the places it was pretty difficult, it was pretty wet and they've done a very

00:55good job to get them out, there's a poop in the cheek going on behind me, so it was

01:01quite a great sale.
