No matter who comes into power, businesses need better communication and greater ease of doing business.

This according to the Vice Chairman of the Confederation of Regional Business Chambers, Richardo Mohammed.

Nicole M Romany tells us more.

00:00Mohammed, who is also President of the Eastern Business Merchants Association and President
00:06of the Pharmacy Board, says more has to be done to assist the business sector.
00:12As the general election countdown begins, he stressed that it is not about party, but
00:18it's about boosting the economy.
00:21Regardless who is successful in the next election, we need to have a more vibrant communication
00:29bridge established between the business sector, the SME sector, the business people, the government
00:37so that we can really assist this country on moving forward.
00:44He says more active steps must be taken to attract revenue.
00:49As we have seen and we have heard over the last 10 years, we have heard about diversification
00:55and really are we getting diversification programmes to be implemented so that this
01:03country can move away a little bit from the oil and gas.

01:12crisis continues to put a cap on businesses, forcing business operators to use their personal
01:19credit cards for operational purposes.
01:22Trinidad needs to really be revamped, redirected and we have to now put a little more emphasis
01:31into the manufacturing aspect of Trinidad and what we can do to help grow in a way that
01:41will allow us to create products for export and make some of our products a little more
01:47competitive on foreign markets.
