We're back with Alex Miller on this week's 'All Wednesday', with Sheffield Wednesday's Steel City derby defeat on the agenda as well as what comes next as the season comes to a close. We also discuss player contracts and a certain Djeidi Gassama.

00:00People are going, oh, you know, is it the last eight games for this player or that player?

00:04And as is always the case and has been the case since day dot, I think,

00:08Sheffield Wednesday have a lot of players out of contract this summer.

00:11And one player that's not out of contract this summer that I want to speak about before that

00:16is Jeddy Gasama because it feels like Sheffield Wednesday have a real asset on their hands there.

00:23And we've seen previously what has happened when Sheffield Wednesday have had assets on their hands.

00:27How important is it that Wednesday make sure that not only is Jeddy Gasama on a contract,

00:34because look, he's not out of contract, so he's still an asset now,

00:37but you've got to look after them, haven't you?

00:39You can't just have a player come in on what he's on and just expect him to ride that contract out.

00:48Well, you can. So, yeah, you can, you shouldn't.

00:52Yeah, I mean, the situation is interesting on it.

00:57You know, I asked the question of Danny in the pre-match press conference leading into the derby.

01:04And the fact that Jeddy Gasama is not currently,

01:10you know, in contract talks is not a great shock to me.

01:16Yeah. In the Sheffield Wednesday, I think Barry said it,

01:21you know, himself in a presser recently,

01:25Wednesday tend to deal with their contract talks at the end of the season,

01:29you know, with the lay of the land.

01:30And I mean, it feels a little bit different this year to previous years,

01:35in that where the reasoning behind that would have been,

01:39well, we don't know what division we're going to be in and, you know,

01:41there's budgetary restraints to all that sort of thing. That's not the case this year.

01:45So you'd think that there might be a logic to get a jump on it

01:50and enter into contract negotiations with some of the players

01:56that they certainly want to offer fresh terms to.
