00:00This year marks the 15th anniversary of See the Stars perfect three-year-old campaign where he
00:06reeled off six straight group one victories and became one of the most popular racehorses of the
00:11century. The Hall of Famer's success only continues as a stallion and now at the age of 18 his legacy
00:18continues to grow. I first saw See the Stars when he didn't have a name so first time I saw him was
00:27out in the curry with John Ox. There he said he's a Cape Cross brother to Galileo and I said
00:33oh it's interesting and I saw him quite a bit throughout his two-year-old year and it was there
00:41the first time that Michael Canan had a sit on him and could see him smiling so there were
00:47indications that he was that he was quite a nice horse. What maybe sets him apart apart from the
01:12fact that he was winning a group one every every month of the season as a three-year-old he got on
01:18a plane and he flew to to go to the races five of those six times and I think that spoke of a great
01:25constitution and great temperament. I don't think we'll ever see this repeated again what he achieved
01:30as a three-year-old. My favorite race probably would be the ARC the reason being I thought on
01:39the day it might be one race too far. That acceleration he showed to get himself out of
01:45trouble and into a position where he could win from I thought that was that was amazing.
01:51I was here when he arrived so probably October would have been three weeks after he won the ARC
02:04so it's 14 and heading for 15 years now next October so part of my life now if you know
02:11the main part of my family's life and well you look out to see the stars you know how
02:15lucky you are and all this kind of thing you know and my little kids have all grown up with him.
02:20Because of his pedigree what he was a brother to his race performance how he looked the expectations
02:28were were very very high. He got up and running with his first crop and every year you know
02:34pretty much he has produced good horses he really really high-class three-year-olds all the stats
02:41that we use to gauge where a stallion is at he he's right up there. They're very sound and they've
02:49got good temperaments and that was him. And he's always been a very intelligent horse wants to know
02:55what's going on everywhere he's the boss around here and even when the other stallions were in
02:59the barn he was definitely the alpha male you know he had to be shown first you know I'll see
03:04by the time we got to show him he wasn't happy about it at all. It has been amazing to see how
03:10he touched the public outside of the industry and the number of people that have come here over the
03:18years that have asked to see him. You hear some good stories about the people's favorite day with
03:26him for you know what were they at their favorite races that he won. Hard to believe now that he's
03:3218 and hopefully he's got a good few more years yet but whether it's his his own sons and daughters
03:39are those of his daughters I think we're set to hear and see a lot of see the stars for the years
03:44to come.
