Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced Tuesday a collaboration with General Motors to produce AI-powered, next-generation vehicles, saying "the time for autonomous vehicles has arrived."

00:18A year later, and a decade after the Voice Assistant's

00:21original launch, Amazon is finally

00:24introducing a new Alexa for the Gen AI age.

00:27Did someone let the dog out today?

00:29I checked the cameras, and yes, in fact, Mozart was just out.

00:33Rather than just playing music, turning on lights,

00:36or setting timers, the new Alexa will make dinner reservations,

00:40order you an Uber, and help you search for, and even

00:43buy, concert tickets.

00:45I have a birthday gathering coming up,

00:47so can you give me all the ingredients

00:49I would need to make penne puttanesca?

00:52But will these upgraded features,

00:53powered by large language models,

00:55be enough to set Alexa apart in what has increasingly

00:58become a crowded voice AI market?

01:01This was first announced, in a way,

01:03without a name or a different name, September of 2023.

01:07You were not even an Amazon employee yet.

01:10Can you explain a couple reasons, or one big reason,

01:14why this is so difficult to launch?

01:17I think, at the end of the day, people wanted to hear, hey,

01:20don't you just plug an LLM in and make it shine?

01:26And it's so much more nuanced than that.

01:27To get it as personal as it is, to get the history,

01:29the memory, the understanding, then

01:31being able to call the right APIs, thousands of APIs,

01:34to decide what the product's going to do.

01:36We're just at the beginning of this.

01:38And so today, I'm super excited to announce

01:44that GM has selected NVIDIA to partner with them

01:47to build their future self-driving car fleet.

01:49The time for autonomous vehicles has arrived.

01:53And we're looking forward to building with GM AI

01:58in all three areas.

02:03the way they manufacture.

02:04AI for enterprise, so they can revolutionize

02:07the way they work, design cars and simulate cars.
