00:02Uber investor Gary Black said Uber could emerge as the leading robotaxi platform ahead of Tesla
00:08and Waymo because of its scale, brand, and operational reach. In a post on X, Black rejected
00:15claims that Uber is just an app and said the company has 200 million monthly active platform
00:21customers and 10 million active vehicles on its platform. Black criticized Tesla bulls,
00:26saying they underestimated the company's brand and operational leverage.
00:30He contrasted that with Waymo's fleet of 3,000 robotaxi vehicles. Black said there would be
00:36no reason to take a Waymo if Uber launches unsupervised autonomous rides globally with
00:42two to three minute wait times and comparable pricing. The comments come as Waymo expands
00:47operations across 10 U.S. cities and Tesla ramps up cyber cab production while expanding robotaxi
00:53operations in Texas and California. Uber CEO Dara Kostro-Shahi recently called autonomous
00:59driving a trillion dollar market and highlighted partnerships with Neuro and NVIDIA.
