00:00Our worst fears materialized.
00:02Airstrikes resumed across the entire Gaza Strip.
00:06Unconfirmed reports of hundreds of people killed.
00:10New evacuation orders issued by Israeli forces.
00:14And once again, the people of Gaza living in abject fear.
00:19Modest gains made during the ceasefire destroyed.
00:25Humanitarian workers remain on the ground.
00:26I'm in close touch with them, ready to provide
00:29life-saving support to survivors and carry out
00:32our humanitarian mission.
00:34We must be allowed to do so.
00:39Last month, Madam President, I visited
00:40the Occupied Palestinian Territory and Israel
00:43to meet survivors, frontline workers, and authorities.
00:48In Israel, I met with survivors of the horrendous Hamas-led
00:52attacks on 7th of October at the Niros kibbutz.
00:57I will never forget my visit there.
00:59One in four people killed or taken hostage.
01:05In the West Bank, I met with families
01:07whose homes were demolished and who
01:08faced daily threats of eviction and forcible displacement.
01:12My trip coincided with some of Gaza's better recent days.
01:18A ceasefire was in place.
01:20Humanitarians were delivering hundreds of trucks every day,
01:24saving lives and restoring hope.
01:27We demonstrated that when we are allowed to do so,
01:31we can deliver aid at scale.
01:35Not anymore.
01:38Today, I'm distressed to report that in addition
01:40to the intense airstrikes that have resumed
01:43since the 2nd of March, Israeli authorities
01:45have cut off the entry of all life-saving supplies, food,
01:50medicines, fuel, cooking gas, for 2.1 million people.
01:57Our repeated requests to collect aid
02:00sitting at Kerem Shalom Crossing
02:02have been systematically rejected.
02:06Food is rotting and medicines are expiring.
02:11No further hostages have been released.
02:14Only medical evacuations and humanitarian staff rotations
02:17have continued.
