00:00More than 1,000 foreign workers gathered in the middle of the road at Jalan Cangkat Jong
00:07Batu Lapan Teluk Intan following a fatal accident involving a Nepal national on Friday.
00:14Viral videos show foreign workers assembling on the road with some sitting down, completely
00:19blocking traffic for five hours.
00:21Hilir Perak OCPD Assistant Commissioner Dr Bakri Zainal Abidin confirmed that the incident
00:27occurred on Friday at around 9.35pm.
00:31Police received a report of the fatal accident and immediately mobilised officers to calm
00:37and control the situation.
00:39Police managed to restore order after the workers, mainly factory employees, returned
00:44to their hostel at 2am.
00:47However, 13 Nepal nationals were arrested for allegedly inciting a riot and are being
00:52investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code.
00:56Meanwhile, the fatal accident is under investigation under Section 41, Subsection 1 of the Road
