00:00A 10-year-old boy was killed and 10 others were injured in an accident at kilometer 44.2

00:13of the Johor Bahru-Mersing Road on Friday.

00:16Kota Tinggi OCPD Superintendent Yusof Othman said the accident, which involved three vehicles,

00:23is believed to have occurred at about 7.50 p.m.

00:26Initial investigations revealed that a car driven by a 47-year-old woman lost control

00:32and skidded into the middle of the road, colliding with two other vehicles.

00:37Among the passengers was the driver's 10-year-old son, who sustained severe injuries and was

00:43pronounced dead at the scene.

00:45His body has been sent to Kota Tinggi Hospital for a post-mortem.

00:49The driver and three other passengers from the same car were also injured and taken to

00:54the hospital for further treatment.

00:56The passengers and drivers in the two other vehicles, aged between 3 and 87, also sustained

01:02injuries and were sent to the same hospital.
