00:00There are no poor learners, only bad teachers, and to measure up or rise to the level of competition or standard,

00:06the DepEd is putting teachers under more specialized training and helping them adapt digitally

00:11by providing more current communication devices and machines.

00:15Our Christian Bascones filed this report.

00:19The Department of Education or DepEd continues to enhance the capabilities of teachers through digitalization

00:24to further improve the education system in the country.

00:27According to Education Secretary Sonny Angara, two major tech companies will assist teachers in the Philippines

00:32by providing access to virtual training programs.

00:34Some teachers have already received laptops and other devices to help them improve their teaching methods.

00:39As part of this program, teachers are being given additional training on the use of modern technology

00:44to make teaching and learning easier for students as well.

00:47Well, we signed this week, we signed agreements with LinkedIn and Google,

00:52which are two of the biggest tech companies in the world.

00:57This will provide access to the training of our teachers.

01:01Even if they are just at home, they can access their phones.

01:05And they can use this as a credit for their professional development.

01:09So they can be a part of this promotion.

01:12Meanwhile, DepEd is also preparing for the upcoming elections,

01:15wherein many teachers will be assigned as canvassers or vote counters.

01:19To ensure a smooth and fair election, teachers underwent special training on the election process,

01:23the use of voting machines, and implementation of guidelines to maintain transparency and credibility in voting process.

01:29The agency assures that teachers will not only be empowered in teaching,

01:32but also in their crucial role of safeguarding the country's democracy.

01:36This is part of our duty as teachers.

01:41And of course, we should not be influenced by politics.

01:45We should be fair.

01:47And this is an important pillar of our democracy.

01:54That is why we are here supporting all teachers who will be appointed in the 2025 elections.
