00:00The design for the King's Baton Relay has been revealed by the Trinidad and Tobago Commonwealth
00:06Games Association.
00:09The baton was designed by renowned creative art director Kenneth Henry, while the artwork
00:13was drawn up by artist and former national cyclist Michael Phillips.
00:17It is expected that the baton will pass through locations in TNT before it heads to Scotland.
00:23British High Commissioner John Dean says the baton symbolises the spirit of TNT and the
00:28Commonwealth.
00:31What better way to do that were by bringing together the first baton in the King's Baton
00:37Relay which is actually departing from here in Trinidad and Tobago.
00:43It's 500 days of relay, it's one of the longest relays that we've seen and the Trinidad and
00:49Tobago baton is leading off the race.
00:53The race is all about sustainability, it's about innovation, it's about the future and
00:58the baton that Trinidad and Tobago has put together here is beautiful, it's designed
01:02with all of the features and elements that Trinidad and Tobago is proud of and I think
01:10it really does capture that spirit of the Commonwealth.
