00:00A pee-hailing driver was shocked to see his face in news reports about a luxury watch

00:06scam after unknowingly becoming entangled in the fraud.

00:10The 37-year-old, who wished to be known only as Sean, claimed he was merely fulfilling

00:16a delivery request through a pee-hailing platform when he was drawn into the scheme.

00:22At a press conference organized by the MCA Public Services and Complaints Department

00:26on Friday, Sean recounted how he had accepted a request at 7.45pm on March 3 from a customer

00:33named Raymond.

00:34The task was to collect a Rolex watch from a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur and deliver

00:39it to the Serembantu Township.

00:41According to Sean, Raymond instructed him to tell the seller, a woman, that he was an

00:47employee of Raymond rather than a pee-hailing driver.

00:50Before I went to pick up the watch, Raymond told me not to tell anyone that I was an employee

00:55of Raymond because he wouldn't give me the watch.

00:57Raymond told me to pick up the watch and take a picture of it and then he would do the rest.

01:08Sean followed the instructions and picked up the package from the woman at around 8pm.

01:13He then delivered it to a man in Serembantu at 9.28pm.

01:17I called Raymond and told him that someone was coming to pick up the package.

01:23He told me that it was an Indian.

01:24He then called the man and told him to get out of the car.

01:27I waited for him to get out of the car and Raymond told me to pick up the package.

01:31Although Sean took a photo of the recipient as proof of delivery, Raymond later instructed

01:36him to delete it.

01:37He was paid RM150 for the job, unaware that he had played a role in a scam.

01:43A day earlier, at a separate press conference also held by the department, 31-year-old

01:49Lee revealed she had been scammed in the sale of a limited edition Rolex Daytona watch worth

01:55RM203,000.

01:57Lee had arranged to meet Raymond for the transaction, but he claimed to be busy and said his employee

02:03would pick up the watch on his behalf.

02:06She later received two bank slips via WhatsApp and upon checking, the amount appeared in

02:11her account balance.

02:12Believing the transaction was complete, she handed the watch over to Sean.

02:17However, the cheques later bounced and she was unable to contact Raymond.

02:22Lee subsequently lodged a police report and held a press conference with MCA Public Services

02:27and Complaints Department Head Datuk Seri Michael Chong.

02:31Chong confirmed that Sean had also provided his statement to the police as investigations

02:36continue.
