00:00The proposed Child Tourist Safety Act, which aims to prevent accidents involving children
00:05during vacations, was discussed in a hearing by the Senate Committee on Women, Children,
00:10Family Relations, and Gender Equality. Families who have experienced tragedies while on vacation
00:18shared their stories and highlighted challenges such as the lack of nearby hospitals and resorts
00:24without proper first aid facilities. The Department of Health or DOH assured that
00:31efforts are being made to address these concerns and enhance tourist safety in the country. However,
00:37the DOH underscored the need for support from other government sectors to implement necessary
00:44safety measures effectively. We also need the help from the other
00:50government agencies which includes the DOT and of course the importance of the role of DILG
00:57since LGU has the power to close an establishment.
