00:07I would lean towards a younger guy with the two guys you just got, right, at McDowell.

00:10And it depends what Coach Roshar wants.

00:12When he turns on the film, Coach Roshar, now the Bears offensive line coach,

00:16when he turns on the film with him and Ben Johnson sitting in the room up there

00:20at Hallas Hall, and Ben Johnson asks him, or Coach Roshar says,

00:24what do you want here at this position?

00:26Do you want an outside zone guy?

00:27Do you want a power guy?

00:28We're coming downhill at people.

00:30What do you want on film from your center?

00:32Directing traffic, getting guys moving in the right direction.

00:35Now you got Joe Tooney there.

00:36He can help with that.

00:37He can help guys get guys on the right box, identify who the offensive line is working to,

00:42who the running back is working to, who's coming, who's hot.

00:45All these things you got to work on.

00:47I would like to see them get a young center and maybe also bring in a veteran center,

00:52like when the Bears drafted me and I sat behind Casey Wigman for a year

00:56and learned a lot from Casey Wigman about how to be a pro, how to study my book.

01:00I sat behind him and really needed that year to learn.

01:03Talked about Cam Juergens.

01:04He just did that in Philadelphia, right?

01:06The Eagles just did that with him.

01:07I sat him behind JC Kelsey for a year, played him at right guard, and then he started,

01:11and then they won the Super Bowl with him at center.

01:14So keep adding guys to that room, David.

01:16Maybe you get both.

01:17I don't know if you have the money from Dallman.

01:19I don't know if you're with the inside side three now.

01:21You might want to get an older left tackle in there too,

01:23a guy who's well-respected around the league, a guy who can block people,

01:27you know, with the injuries you have at the tackle position.

01:30So much uncertainty in this offensive line rope.

01:33I don't know if you can ever say this year,

01:35oh, that's enough.

01:36We're good to go.

01:37Here we go.

01:39They just gave him a bunch of money to go to Rams,

01:43and you worry about, okay, why'd they let him go so fast?

01:45People are dying to have guys who block people in their 20s, guys.

01:49Guys who are 28 years old.

01:51I love Jonah Jackson's film there in Detroit,

01:53but it was between Frank Ragnall in all-pro center and Taylor Decker,

01:57a very good left tackle.

01:58The sum of the parts on the offensive line is always the most important thing.

02:01Nobody on the offensive line is good by themselves.
