00:00Love that the open there from our guys Tani and Alex Kuhn included you saying,
00:06this team might be better than I thought they were.
00:10That has rolled around my head since you said it on the postgame.
00:13What kind of factors led you to say that and feel that?
00:17Well, when you watch film, as you guys do, you're always looking for things that are repeatable.
00:21By that, I mean what can win on the road, what can win at home, what carries from game to game.
00:27And this team, I think if you're worried about anything, it's the fact that they're plus 10 in the last three games
00:32and only won each two games by one point.
00:36And they're averaging over three and a half takeaways a game.
00:40And I've been taught well by my former teammates that it's not turnovers, the defense takes it away.
00:45So they've been taking it away and they've been doing a great job of that.
00:48They keep that up, obviously, that leads to a lot of wins.
00:51But the two things I saw, and I'm sure you guys saw also, was all of a sudden, very tough against the run,
00:57adding Kyler Gordon, TJ Edwards back into the defense, right, lining up properly,
01:02kind of unleashing Tremaine Edmonds who just run at plays with his speed and his athleticism.
01:08Andrew Billings now, the starting nose guard since Grady Jarrett's been out,
01:11moving Javon Dexter to three technique, kicking Shemar Turner out to DN.
01:16I thought the defense looked as good as I've seen against the run.
01:19And anybody who watched the Bears before thought they were going to lose against the Commanders
01:23going into the game, the number one rushing offense in the NFL because of that factor alone, right?
01:29But obviously the takeaways early helped.
01:31And then, guys, they started running the ball.
01:33And they wanted to go to nickel.
01:34They went to three wides a lot.
01:36They went to three wide receivers.
01:38And that lined up the Commanders in a very specific front that was advantageous to the Chicago Bears.
01:44Ben Johnson and his staff did an amazing job, guys, with motion and confusion.
01:49I've never seen Bobby Wagner that confused on where to fill in his run fits.
01:54So great job by them.
01:55But those two things are repeatable.
01:58And you can beat a lot of football teams, obviously, running the ball, playing defense,
02:02and getting takeaways like we know around here.
