JP and BMitch discuss Commanders defensive lineman Jonathan Allen requesting a trade with  Barstool Nate. Nate thinks Allen was a great Commander, and the team should honor his request in order to get younger.

00:00John Allen seeking to trade. I don't think this is much of a surprise. What was your reaction?

00:04We saw a mission to seek a trade you have a permission to seek a trade. Yes. Yeah. Yeah, not a big surprise

00:10It's unfortunate. Obviously, he's been here forever two-time Pro Bowler

00:14You know hard and solid locker room type of guy and we're finally good, which is kind of the ironic part

00:22But it seems like he's ready to move on

00:25I don't want to say he's like never completely lived up to

00:29Expectations coming out Alabama or anything like that because obviously he's a very good player

00:34It has been quite a good defensive tackle for this team

00:39Him and pain never

00:42together became like that

00:44Crazy demon force in the middle that I think we all wanted them to be whether their fault or you know

00:51Just the teams they've been on combined fault, whatever. I think it's fair that he wants to go somewhere else

00:56I I think it's fair if fans of the team are like, why does he want to go now?

01:02But you know, he has one where you're on his contract. It's still a rebuilding team. We have to remember that

01:07I'll say it every week until the cows come home. We're only this is this is the second year of the rebuild

01:13He's a veteran. He's on the wrong side of 30 as they say in the biz

01:17I think it makes sense from both sides. But do you see another move coming?

01:24We give him a chance to go look for trade try to find and then bring somebody else at that position or somewhere else

01:32Yeah, it's just I guess it all depends on the market

01:35I'm reading a lot right now that it's a very good to tackle draft which may hurt the trade a bit

01:41But it also you have to remember gms are smart. They're sharp. They know that he's a good veteran player

01:47He's you know again a two-time pro bowler. He could still have three four five more years in that tank. Um

01:56What will we get back for him?

01:59You hope adam peters can do adam peters magic and get you know, a couple picks, uh third and fourth

02:05Or maybe he's looking bigger. Maybe adam peters is looking at that wide receiver type of trade

02:11Using him as bait. I I don't know. It's very early in the process

02:15I'm sure we'll see a lot of leaks and a lot of rumors and all that stuff in the in the next few hours and

02:21Days and weeks you might see rumors. You're not gonna see leaks

02:27No, no, I think we're so conditioned to thinking about this franchise and leaks but that doesn't really happen anymore

02:33And that's actually very encouraging. I'm glad you caught me there

02:36But I may sometimes they want stuff leaked so you might see leaks like sometimes

02:41There's information they want out there that might get out. But in general, it's not a leak if I want it out there

02:47It's it's not exactly it's not like the toxic

02:50Yeah snake pit what they call it a viper pit. It used to be to your point

02:54I don't think losing jonathan allen is the end of the world. He essentially gets the run

02:59We saw that he wasn't all there this last season

03:02Um, I I I think that we just have to remember as a fan base

03:07That we are still building this roster back up from basically nothing and they want to get younger at that position

03:14Jonathan allen was injured for the most of the season. He is over 30 years old

03:21I think there's a lot of good things that came from jonathan allen being on this team for as long as he's been on the

03:26Team and you know just sailing through the rough seas as he has I wish him the best in his future endeavors

03:37Allen was mostly really good here. He and pain never became this dominant alabama wall force that folks hoped for

03:48They were probably better than what most fans thought but never delivered on the on the really exciting promise
