00:00and don't look now but several years out of the rebuild and back to being potential contenders

00:06again or at least very close are the Washington Nationals and yeah I mean it's been a tough few

00:11years you trade Juan Soto and Trey Turner and a lot of other players and Strasburg goes down

00:16and Corbin's career hits hits the end and you're like oh my gosh you're gonna lose 90 100 games

00:21Washington did but they made some incredible trades it's very specifically the Soto trade

00:26with San Diego has more or less made part of their lineup so let's take a look here at their

00:31projected lineup courtesy of fangraphs here and you look at the top one two three I mean those

00:35are three of the best young players in that division CJ Abrams who has got to be more

00:41motivated based on what happened to him at the end of last year being kind of shut down by the team

00:45for off the field stuff Dylan Cruz superstar in the making would looks like a superstar in the

00:49making traded for Nathaniel Lowe who's now been on several teams kind of wonder why that happens

00:54George it's like what are we missing here that this guy's been on three teams in four years

00:58Josh Bell is back with Washington Garcia coming off a huge year at second base is there

01:03and then you have a little bit of unknowns here seven and eight Kyber Ruiz never really lived up

01:08to the billing that they thought when they made that deal with the Dodgers Jose Tania and Jacob

01:13Young who could steal a base for you every now and then but he's always gonna bat at the back

01:17end of the lineup but a lot to like here George I'm seeing James Wood go super high this year in

01:23drafts I'm seeing Dylan Cruz now all of a sudden go super high but I think really the most

01:27polarizing figure has got to be CJ Abrams based on what happened last year I know it's not really

01:32a fantasy story per se but imagine playing in your fantasy baseball playoffs and you find out

01:37CJ Abrams was out late at night and they decided not to play the guy for the rest of the year and

01:41send him down to the minors I know somebody who had him in their fantasy league but like this is

01:44not right I know quite a few people were angry about that uh you know yeah I'd be flipping out

01:50you know if I have it all of a sudden though you know you may have lost your league because of it

01:54uh I think what you said is correct you have to think the motivation is there heavy for him

01:59right I listen young people sometimes you need a wake-up call all right I have a hard time thinking

02:04he'll ever do that again uh overall I think this lineup is going to be you know they'll hit I mean

02:10they're not going to score a million runs not going to score but what the Dodgers or the Phillies are

02:13going to score but I think the I don't think office will be their issue bottom of the lineup

02:16okay that could be a problem but uh I think they'll hit Abrams, Cruz, Wood by the way Wood

02:20his home run on fan his home runs on a fan I think was 17 and a half I took the over on that

02:25I think he crushes that pretty easy uh for a guy who hit the ball out of any ballpark anywhere

02:29all right he misses his balls and they're out to left field so well fantastic I'll take that uh

02:33that over there uh Cruz and Wood I think they're gonna be fun to watch Greg I truly do I think

02:38it'd be fun to watch here I wouldn't want both of them on my team but I certainly wouldn't want

02:42mine one you know I don't want to have uh have both youngsters in case one does uh you know

02:47sophomore jinx somewhat even though neither one played a full season last year uh Nate Lowe what

02:51you said is correct all right he keeps bouncing around here guy you know if he plays you know if

02:56he platoons someone he should hit 25 home runs uh Josh Bell's always a player I like this keeps

03:01bouncing another guy keeps bouncing around wish you'd get more of a shot there you know but this

03:05guy wouldn't at one point I wouldn't mind with the Yankees or the you know nice little left-handed

03:09stadium yeah yeah switch hitting player there and a couple of players not mentioned here very

03:14specifically the Nationals did last week sign Paul DeYoung and so if you're saying is Jose

03:19Tania really the third baseman sort of but Paul DeYoung is there and so certainly is going to play

03:26a factor he got a major league contract let's also not forget Stone Garrett in the outfield

03:30who also came up very hot at one point for Washington last season as far as starting

03:34pitching is concerned this is another strength of the team I mean they have five viable starters

03:38George going into the season we haven't said that about Washington in a while Gore Irvin Mitchell

03:42Parker who came on strong Trevor Williams who know I mean this guy generally is throwing 150

03:47innings and Michael Soroka on the back end there and it's a pretty good park to pitch in I know

03:52that there's going to be difficult games against Philadelphia and New York without a doubt and

03:55Atlanta those are tough games within the division but Gore is you know you feel very comfortable

04:01with him as your sp2 I think in fantasy going into the season and who knows what the other guys can

04:05deliver it's a pretty good staff to me I think if I end up with Gore as my sp2 then I must have

04:11went heavy offense because I don't feel all that comfortable with him as an sp2 that being said

04:16depends on what category playing quality starts I do if you play wins I don't you know so it's

04:20going to be all those situations you're depending on how what your league is set up as same thing in

04:25a points league you're playing wins or qs so listen it's a solid staff it's not spectacular

04:31it's built really to keep you in games I don't listen I don't think Washington's gonna be a

04:34terrible team I don't I think they're probably you know I don't think they're gonna be a good team

04:37I don't know if they'll get the 81 wins you know but 75 to 78 range I think could be in the

04:42in their future here it's an interesting thing it's building for the future they got to keep

04:46it up here so I like Gore but I'd be more comfortable with this sp3 not two
