What do you think of the plans for a new £1.5m football stadium?

In its weekly voxpop, the Advertiser found out people’s opinions on the plans for the new sustainable £1.5 million football stadium.

00:10in Newark for those footballs. You know, there was one, not that long ago in Boulderton,

00:14wasn't there, and that's closed down. So I think we definitely need a replacement.

00:18So I hope it goes out somewhere suitable.

00:20I don't think it would be a bad idea. As long as it didn't mess with the infrastructure.

00:24I think the thing is, Newark is such a beautiful town.

00:28And just as we walk through, so many things are closing, and so many things are changing.

00:34And if you could actually bring some money into this area, generally it doesn't happen.

00:41I've got one of my friends, Elliot, he lives around here.

00:44He's mad on football, doesn't have a garden.

00:47So a football stadium would be perfect for giving his friends a nice kick-start somewhere.

00:53It's really good for people who just want to play somewhere, but they don't have to go that far.

00:58They've been missing the football stadium for a few years, so yeah, bring it on.

01:03Anything like that is beneficial for them.

01:06I'm Laurence Scott. I'm very interested to see improvements to our sporting facilities in Newark.

01:13So with the development of a stadium of some kind, it would be great for Newark.

01:19Because Newark is a growing town, and football is good for everybody, for all ages.

01:24So I welcome the support to have a stadium of one kind, and a field to bring these people together

01:31to play their national sport and put Newark on the map.

01:34Newark drives ideal places with their fields.

01:37I don't know where else you could put it, really.

01:39Well, they've always had a stadium as such.

01:42I think it's a good idea, because, you know, I'm a football stadium. People give us that.
