00:00Just on players potentially leaving, the Sky commentator during the Norwich game said
00:04Rhys isn't going to be signing a new deal. Is that your understanding of it? Can you provide any clarity on that?
00:10Not at the minute. We've not sat down and offered him one. I speak to Emile all the time about his situation and his agent.
00:19I think I've said before, I'm relaxed about it. I think Emile is as well.
00:25He wants to play as high as he can and see what his options are in the summer. I've got absolutely no problem with that.
00:34Our job is to continue as if he's not here and keep looking for replacements. I've done that with other players and they've ended up re-signing.
00:42When their intention was to see what was out there in the summer, they changed their mind and have ended up re-signing.
00:50I've never closed a door on a player, just like the door will never be closed on a player. Does that make sense?
00:59The contract is there for a reason and no-one can be criticised if they don't want to stay.
01:04Just like we can't be criticised if we're not renewing contracts. That's the business we're in.
01:10But no door has been closed on any player and likewise, I think if you're open enough and you have that dialogue with the player and their people,
01:20whether it's their family, whether it's their agents, then no-one can be upset about it.
01:25Would you only be concerned if performance was affected and he scored a wonderful goal on Tuesday and put in a shift?
01:32He's in the same position as five, six, seven players. It's no different.
01:37The moment I make it different is the moment it may be an issue for performance, so I'm not going to do that.
01:43Contracts are there and they should be honoured both ways, that's it.
01:49My problem comes when people are under contracts and demanding a move. That's the problem.
01:54So yes, no issues on any of the players that are either wanting to stay, may want to leave or are waiting to see.
