Which Rangers can surprise us with big seasons in 2025?

Bruce Bochy says a successful season needs a few surprise performances, so who on this Rangers squad can surprise us this season? K&C take a look up and down the roster and talk about everybody from Adolis Garcia to Jonah Heim and if they can deliver surprise bounce back seasons this year.

00:00What would you think about Jonah Heim as a surprise?

00:19You mentioned it earlier, so I decided to dive into those numbers.

00:24Not just one of the worst catchers, one of the worst players in Major League Baseball

00:31with at least 400 plate appearances.

00:33So an everyday player, he was arguably the worst.

00:36A .220 batting average, a .602 OPS.

00:40He was one of 19 regulars to finish with a negative war.

00:47And so Heim said that he had a conversation with Bobby Wilson, and Bobby Wilson was quote,

00:52up front and honest.

00:55And that's, I feel like sometimes that is missing, not just from sports, but from all

01:00professional discussions where sometimes you have to have some tough love and be like,

01:04Hey, I like you, but we still need to fix up these things.

01:06So I'm going to throw a Jonah Heim as a potential surprise.

01:09I like what Bobby did.

01:10I have no clue what he said, but I can give you an idea.

01:13Your career's on the line.

01:14Yeah.

01:15You're, you're not a perennial all-star.

01:17I get what you did in 23 and it was awesome.

01:20But you understand because Bobby Wilson is a supporter of the player.

01:24He's trying to help the players much and the Texas Rangers don't get me wrong, but he wants

01:28Jonah Heim to have a great, successful, long career.

01:31That's what he's trying to help them be good now and be good for the future.

01:35And if I'm a general manager and I'm looking at 2020 and 21 and 22 and 24, 2023 comes out

01:43of nowhere.

01:44Yeah.

01:45So dude, right now teams are looking at you as like 2023 came out of nowhere.

01:51I'm going to rely more on 2021, 22 and 24 right now, unless in 25 he jumps back to 23

01:58and then I'm going to go, wait a second.

02:00Now there's two out of the last three years he's done that, but it's going to be interesting

02:04to see.

02:05Cause I do think it's going to be close to a 50 50 split to start the year with Higgy

02:09and Heim.

02:10Yeah.

02:11And then this is probably also from Bobby Wilson's perspective, Higgy might end up by

02:15mid May being our everyday guy and you're the backup.
