Rangers second baseman Marcus Semien joined the K&C Masterpiece live from the clubhouse in Surprise to talk about his Spring Training so far, when he knows he's ready for the season, why you should wear a cup as an infielder, and more.

00:00Marcus, when it comes to spring training, is there a certain day, not that you know

00:19the date's going to be March 15th or March 20th, but is there a certain game that you

00:24can kind of look at during spring training and go, okay, I'm ready.

00:28I've gotten my bats.

00:29I've seen enough pitches.

00:30I am ready for the season to start.

00:32I know that I'm ready for opening day.

00:36I don't know.

00:37I think that once we get to the exhibition games, you really feel that because we're

00:40in our home stadium.

00:42You're in a big league stadium, but we do have a lot of things to check off here, whether

00:51it's playing in the night game first or just hitting a 100-mile-an-hour fastball and hitting

00:57it hard or just different things like that.

00:59So we're still very early in camp, and as we move along, you get more comfortable in

01:05the box, and you show up to opening day hopefully with good fastball timing and a good idea

01:13where the strike zone is.
