00:00What was it that made you say, I have to be back with this club, with this organization?
00:21Again, you know, we were able to come over there in 23.
00:25I saw the guys that we had, and we were able to win a World Series, and I don't feel like
00:28much has changed from that.
00:29I know last year we didn't play well, and we didn't play up to our standards, but I
00:34feel like that was just, you know, I feel like we all kind of struggled at the same
00:38time, right?
00:39We were never able to get back on page.
00:42You know, this year coming back, you know, see why I spoke about the vision that he has
00:46for the team, and what it's going to take for us to win, and we've got ownership back
00:49in him, and you know, I feel like we're going to be back to where we were in 23, and we're
00:53going to be surprising a lot of people again.
00:56You know, I feel like our division's up for grabs.
00:59You know, I feel like we've got a great opportunity to go out there and win a lot of games.
01:03So that was very intriguing for me to come back, and you know, you've got DeGrom healthy,
01:08ready to go, and you've got Tyler Mallory, who's going to be back, and you've got Rocker
01:11and Leiter.
01:12You know, I talk about the, you know, the benefits from a losing season, right?
01:18You're going to have young guys who come up who, you know, they get to perform, and they
01:21may not have had, you know, that opportunity if we were winning a bunch of ballgames, but
01:25you know, obviously they're going to help us.
01:27They're going to help, and they're going to contribute down the road, and you know,
01:31they're going to be ready for it this time around.
01:33So I know you watch bullpens of your teammates, and I remember being in spring training with
01:39the Phillies and watching Billy Wagner, and I thought to myself, how does any human being
01:43ever touch a baseball off of Billy Wagner?
01:46You just mentioned Jacob DeGrom.
01:48When you watch guys throw bullpens, is he the most impressive guy that you watch standing
01:54behind and watch his stuff?
01:57I would say so.
01:58I mean, you know, we have all the data and everything in the track, man.
02:01You get the strike zones right there.
02:02He doesn't throw any pitches down the middle.
02:04I mean, he locates everything at the bottom of the zone.
02:07I mean, in his bullpens, it's crisp, it's clean.
02:11You know, he's like, he works on his changeup that he doesn't throw as much, and it's nasty.
02:14He throws some curveballs.
02:15He doesn't throw in the games, and they're nasty, and then you see the slider in the
02:18fastball, but it's not only are all of his pitches electric, but he locates them.
02:24I mean, it starts in the bullpen, and it's really fun to watch because, you know, he'll
02:28throw a pitch, and he's big on it.
02:29He'll be, oh, terrible, oh, the worst, and it's, you know, 95 on the black, just not
02:35at the bottom corner on the black.
02:37It's just on the black middle away, and it's fun to watch, and nice to be able to give
02:42him a hard time about the little things like that, too.
