I have always enjoyed sea stories, and here I am reading an extremely moody one, penned by Karel (1890-1938) and Josef Capek (1887-1945). Karel was perhaps best known for his robot drama, but he wrote many other things, including some crime fiction. Much of what he wrote was highly imaginative, with psychological depth. This is one of his better known collaborations with his brother.
