00:00The Fire Ship by Michael Henrik Wynne
00:06We're on a mountain ledge, my dog and I,
00:09Watching foreign carracks on a rolling moonlit ocean.
00:14Sails flutter and cannons roar,
00:17But the seas swallow all human voices.
00:21I am untouchable on the shore,
00:24Hidden by solitude.
00:26Why are these vessels here?
00:28Will any outcome matter?
00:31The silhouettes of mass pass by the moon,
00:35Above ever silvery foam.
00:38Hatches open to spit fire at their enemy.
00:41In that illuminated instant,
00:44Human forms plunge into the depths.
00:47Smoke settles over icy water
00:49As a slow, glowing fog encircles the perimeter.
00:54It grows ever brighter
00:56Until a wall of flames breaks through.
00:59A burning day.
01:01The rigging on fire.
01:03The ship creaks heels from side to side.
01:07Crashes echo causing intervening nights.
01:10And flames unite.
01:13I lower my gaze.
01:15Shadows dance around bush and boulder.
01:18It is too much.
01:20I want hope in silence.
01:22I take a break of air.
01:23Do more,
