00:00DBT which is deep vein thrombosis is diagnosed by 4 factors, number 1 is the history, number

00:122 the clinical examination findings, number 3 the blood test which is a D-dimer and number

00:184 is the Doppler scan.

00:21Last week we had a 30 year old female who is on oral contraceptive fills for the contraception

00:26purpose with a swollen left lower limb, we did a Doppler scan and it showed left lower

00:32limb iliac vein DVT.

00:34DVT in simple terms is deep vein thrombosis which is formation of blood clot usually in

00:41the legs.

00:42This patient after the diagnosis of left lower limb iliac vein DVT, we subjected her to the

00:47catheter of intervention of IVC filter deployment and then clot aspiration and catheter directed

00:54thrombosis.

00:55Usually this DVT treatment takes 2 to 3 days hospital admission time and here this patient

01:02she was discharged after 3 days with maintenance blood thinners.

01:07Now the patient is doing well and she has resumed her job and she is on regular follow

01:12up check up with us.
