00:00The UAE Federal Public Prosecution has called on people infected with COVID-19 to inform
00:08health authorities.
00:10They said they were keen to promote awareness among residents and help stem the spread of
00:15the virus.
00:16In a tweet posted on its accounts on social media platforms, the public prosecution said
00:21that it is mandatory for a person infected with COVID-19 to visit the Ministry of Health
00:26and Prevention or other health authorities to receive medical treatment and enable the
00:31authorities to stem the spread of the infection.
00:34The public prosecution referred to Articles 32 and 33 of the federal law concerning the
00:40prevention of communicable diseases, which reads,
00:43Upon knowing that he or she is infected with certain diseases, the infected person and
00:48close contact should go to the Ministry or health authorities to receive medical treatment,
00:53advice, and awareness of the risks and infections, and the ways of transmitting the infection.
00:59According to Article 38 of the same law, violators could fail jail and fines between 10,000 and
01:0550,000 dirhams.
